CHRISTMAS CARDS
by RAYZORBLADE inthis year, has to be one of the funkiest ever.. i have received a multitude of christmas cards, and many of them, from all over the globe.. a great many of them, of course, came from folks off of this forum.. honestly, it truly made my day.. what i have done is, string some elastic tinseled twine along my walls, and draped the cards on them, making a couple of u-shapes on my wall.
very nice.. some cards are really and truly amazing.. thank you to all who have sent cards to me from this forum.
i really and truly appreciate each and every one of them.. some were truly remarkable.

Do You Have Any: First Nations Connection/Aboriginal Peoples Connection
by RAYZORBLADE ini have been recently surprised on this forum to discover members who do have some affiliation or connection to their first nations/aboriginal heritage.. i live in canada, and my maternal grandmother's father was mi'kmaq (nova scotia).
my paternal grandfather's mother: mi'kmaq as well.. i think it's interesting, discovering all these wonderous connections to the places we come from.. for those not living in north america, where indigenous peoples reside ie: new zealand, australia, south africa and south american nations, have you discovered any family lineage leading you aboriginal peoples?.
just curious.

20 Years Ago Today
by RAYZORBLADE inwell, it's officially, november 22, 2003. .
20 years ago today, was the beginning of the end of my life as a jehovah's witness.
when i think back to 10 years (1993) after leaving the jehovah's witnesses, i can remember not quite being so well-adjusted.

Daniel Lanois
by RAYZORBLADE infor some, this name is synonymous with music production, and also, incredible international music input.. i met daniel lanois, briefly, and accidentally in vancouver, bc., back in 1994.. a man whose eyes are as black, and deep, yet...warm and friendly.. he has been behind many internationally acclaimed bands, and of course, for those of you whom are u2 fans: the joshua tree (1987), was one of his works.. right now, i am listening to the album: "the beauty of wynona".
i have the 1989, critically acclaimed: acadie, which i can listen to endlessly.. daniel, still resides in the hamilton, ontario area.
his roots are deep within the acadian fabric of atlantic canada.. a wonderfully gifted writer, singer, performer.

Gordon Lightfoot
by RAYZORBLADE inok, if you're a canuck, chances you know that gordon lightfoot is about right up there with ol' jehover!.
but if not, nevermind, but i have to admit, i have been a lifelong fan of: gordon lightfoot.. this evening, i took his 'greatest hits' and gave it a listen, and as expected, i was still enthralled with his lyrical genius, and playing abilities.. anyone a gordon lightfoot fan?.
just curious.. all your folks living along north america's "great lakes" keep in mind, next month is the 28th anniversary of the sinking of the "edmund fitzgerald".. that song, by gordon lightfoot is haunting from beginning to end (over 6 minutes).. i personally love: go-go girl in love, bitter green, canadian railway trilogy, sundown, race among the ruins, wreck of the edmund fitzgerald, and well i like just about every damn thing he ever did.. your contributions?
