Spirit of competition

i will get around to telling you my story as soon as i figure out where to post it!.

i was a witness for 19 years (i left/df'd when i was 19) and was always told that i wasn't allowed to participate in after school sports because it was getting involved in competition which is frowned upon.

so how come it's ok for the williams sisters to play professional tennis, have a career, earn loadsa money and wear totally immodest short skirts which show their knickers shock horror!!

Jehovah's Witness and Birthdays

i know that jehovah's witness say only two birthday celebrations are spoken of in the bible and that neither were held by persons who worshiped jehovah.

or were there any other celebrations that were simular to birthday celebrations?.

inquiring minds need to know.

Yeah, sounds good to me about that comment "that's not how to have a birthday party". Im a Baptist, and in our religion we are not allowed to dance because of that incident of John the Baptist in the Bible. Of how the girl that dances pleases the king and says he'll give her anything she wants. So, if that's not how to have a birthday party then is dancing forbidden? From what I've been taught its not bad to dance if its to praise God or if you are dancing with another person but a bit appart from each other. Lol, weird. I don't really care since I don't dance anyways.

Blasphemy

i was asked how come the bible says that god forgives blasphemy to the father and the son, but not the holy spirit.

if they all are god, what makes the person of the holy spirit more important regarding blasphemy than the father or the son.

Yeah, and I have also seen how they misquote them. I need to get some books such as One Lord, Many Witnesses of William Barclay, an author who was misquoted in the magazine "Should You Believe in the Trinity?". I'll probably show it to her when I get it, although I don't think it will be of much impact on her.

Trinitarians, Did Jesus reveal himself as God?

i'm a person that believes in the trinity, but i have a question.

i know jesus didn't reveal to all the people to whom he preached as god himself, and it was not something that he directly taught (or at least i think he didn't), but i know from what i've read that the disciples knew and taught it.

my question is, did jesus tell them, or did they have this revealed when they were anointed by the holy spirit?

What are you doing to preach the "good news" to your neighbors?

when i left the organization this question was asked by some jws.

it was undoubtedly asked with the thought in mind that we weren't fulfilling our dedication to jehovah?

i know what my answer was to this.

I preach to my JW friends on how they are wrong, if you think about it long enough, i am attacking them. But my goal is to show them the truth on the Watchtower, their errors. Most of these I get off webpages, but they always tell me that they are full of apostates, and that everything is fake, and all this stuff. They won't believe me until I get a book of theirs to show them, but I don't have any.

i have not found one jehovahs witness who could show me in the bible where jesus is refered to as micheal the archangel or that you could draw such a conclusion.

if anyone is willing to discuss this topic with me i would greatly appriciate it.
