Outlaw - you are funny.

on another thread, i read that a few adherents may be traveling (cough-cough) to other cities and wouldn't be able to make field service on christmas day.. what is the likelihood that going out on christmas will be encouraged at the weekend services at the khs?
...or do most halls stay neutral on this?
given what i've read on this forum, i have the impression that disrespecting a day of other's celebration wouldn't be discouraged which annoys the heck out of me..
Outlaw - you are funny.

we had fun putting together our first artificial tree last week, it came out so pretty!
the lights and cheap ornaments just add to it.. we have been careful to close our blinds at night to avoid our jw neighbors from calling in the elders, that worked for a few days until we decided to go out for an early dinner and yes, i forgot to close the blinds!
as we drove up to the garage door i could see the tree in the front room and started to freak out a little.
Wonderful! Such simple things to people who've experienced Christmas trees etc all their lives, but milestones for us. I hope your teenager has a magical Christmas.

do you ever wonder if the watchtower writers actually read the context of their key scriptures?.
they seem intent on perpetuating the idea that the jewish law was divine - perfect.. paragraph two asks the question "what would prompt an israelite slave to forfeit his opportunity.
to be free?".
Yes, the WTS have managed to put their completely-out-of-context interpretation to good use, haven't they?

if i knew then what i know now, i might never have disassociated myself.
i realize all i can do is speculate on what could have been.
however, when i consider the number of people i might have been able to help by dropping little thought-provoking seeds, i really regret having jumped to the decision to disassociate so quickly.. ive read the accounts of several people on this forum telling of how stressful it is to be in the position that i just described above.
Zoos - please remember your freedom is worth more than 'inside info.' I am so pleased you are out.
Designs - great post.
Crazyguy - I wish you all the best.

i have to get active.
my wife told me we have hospitality this weekend and i know the jw slingshot mechanism will engage after attendance.
so i have to get ready.
I thought your description - even though you are understandably frustrated - was very sweet; you are clearly inlove with your wife.
I got all the above dead-ends to questions from my mother; it drove me mad. But when she was ready, she started asking me questions, instead of the other way round. Hang in there.

my son wrote this about his recent exam experience.
i thought you'd appreciate.
exam: 10:15 am - 12:15 pm.
I just finished mine. I could picture your son sprinting across campus! I hope he did really well.

stressed again with my circumstances.
very tiresome, but i need to be positive.
are you an optimistic soul?
Hi Kate,
I hope your day is getting better.
The beginning of your day reminded me of this quote:
'The wine of life keeps oozing drop by drop, / The leaves of life keep falling one by one.' (E.Fitzgerald)
