I would seriously think twice about writing a formal letter of disassociation.
You will no longer be allowed to carry the microphones.

the game "ghettopoly" is getting a lot of attention as a ghetto version of monopoly.. has anyone thought about a borg version of the game ?
it could be a lot of fun.
1. all properties on the board would now be called "territories".
The game "ghettopoly" is getting a lot of attention as a ghetto version of Monopoly.
Has anyone thought about a Borg version of the game ? It could be a lot of fun.
For example:
1. All properties on the board would now be called "territories"
2. The "banker" that handles the money will be called "the Society" and MUST be male.
3. The "Jail" location would be renamed "Judicial Committee" and you could be sent there
4. The starting space on the board will be renamed from "Go" to "Secular Job" ... you collect $200 each time you pass it.
5. The game pieces will be changed from worldly things like racing cars to more appropriate things like four door cars and service bags. You don't choose the game piece .... it is assigned to you and you are thankful for having it.
6. You no longer erect houses and hotels ... instead it's kingdom halls and assembly halls
7. The terms "pay" and "payment" would be replaced by "donate" and "suggested contribution"
8. The "Community Chest" cards would be renamed "Local Funds." The cards would consist of requests for donations and resolutions. Included would be cards for things like the visit of the CO and repairs to the KH. Any "resolution" cards must be agreed to by all regardless of the purpose. Any not agreeing to the resolution will be considered "marked" and not asked to play the next time.
9. The "Chance" cards would be renamed "Theocratic Opportunites." You pay for the opportunity to move to another part of the board where the need is greater or to the Branch locations. The decision of where you move is made by the person playing "Society." However, you forfeit passing the Secular Job space and receiving any money.
10. The object of the game is to make it last as long as possible with as little money as possible.
11. The game ends when everyone loses his or her money except for one person. That person is obviously not spritual-minded and will be shunned and considered bad association during the next game.
ANY OTHER IDEAS ???? THIS COULD BE FUN !!!

in view of the fact that there are mostly ex-witnesses on this forum, the question is," are jw's truly welcomed here?".
it seems to me that if a poster supports the witnesses in any way, that they will know about it.
Scooby --- > Now are doubting JWs welcome here? well thats a different subject altogether!!
Well, having been here about 10 months now, I must admit that although I am still in the borg and a pro-JW, I have been treated very well.
Many like myself that have invested many years in the troof (TM) and still have family and friends there don't necessarily want to throw all of that away as some here have done. Many of the people there ARE very wonderful people.
There ARE those in the borg like myself , however, that view it as the nation of Israel in biblical times. There were the good kings and the bad kings. Contrast Solomon with Ahaz and you know what I mean. We feel today that re-direction is needed and that the micro-management of every detail in peoples' lives is not what Christianity is all about, in fact, it's what Jesus did away with, a detailed sets of Laws.
I think by my posts and profile, many here see that even those of us with strong ties in the troof(TM) are not not mindless robots but working for much needed reform.

if a "critical mass" of witnesses started to observe the following, what kind of reaction to you think hq would have?
what percentage of witnesses would you consider to be a "critical mass?
" in other words, how many does it take to make behavior snowball?
So same doctrine, but more palatable
Phanton ..... well .. maybe ....
And the new light on the " Cross / Stake" debate will be that Jesus died on an erect tree with a couple of small branches extending from each side.

Stacy .... LOL
You know living in California that you DO have to be careful !!!!! The sun's effects can be felt very quickly (at least for me with my "white" skin ... my wife being Columbian has skin that lets her just tan instead of get red).
But yes, once, I DID get burned. This is not the place to go into details, but everything from my neck to my knees was burnt after falling asleep in the Miami sun for over 2 hours with no sunscreen.

Spud ... excellent points.
I have felt for years that there is so much opportunity to help people at the meetings (those of us that are still "in") that is missed.
Book Study: ( 1 hour) Yes, this could and SHOULD be the most informative meeting of the week given the fact that there are small groups and the opportunity for a lot of interaction. PRACTICAL material for families and coping with day-to-day life could be discussed in an informal environment. Instead, now we rehash over and over again which head of which beast means what ... or how this dream means this or that ... the lampstands picture this, the 24 elders picture that ...... and on and on and on ........ and then find out what we "knew" last week has changed when the "new light" thing happens ......
Ministry School: (1 hour 15 minutes) Yes, great for public speaking and reading. This is one meeting that DOES help us in the real world. I have seen many otherwise intelligent people at work who suffered because they did not have good speaking skills. More, shorter (3-4 minute) parts should be part of the program.
Public Talk: (45 minutes) Also good. Just keep the topics relevent to daily life.
Watchtower Study: (30 minutes) Discuss a REAL biblical topic or account, NOT just repeating words from the Watchtower and patting the FDS on the back. Some weeks could be discussions about the life of a person, both those in biblical times and those in our time like the Awake presents periodically.
Service Meeting: Eliminate it. Simply include an announcement portion in the ministry school. Any other information could simply be included in one of the ministry school parts.
Change is NEEDED.

Haulover Beach in North Miami Beach is fantastic.
Joelbear ...... you are right !!!!!!!
Haulover is GREAT ... like thousands of people there on the weekends.
My wife got hooked when she came home the first time without tan lines. Now it's the only place she wants to go.
