  Women look nicer in other towns

  when you travel to other cities, do you find that women or men look nicer or more sexy than in your home town?

  maybe it's because we see new butts faces, that give this illusion.. so, is the grass greener elsewhere?

  When in South Florida, I HAVE to go to South Beach at least once each trip.

  The women are gorgeous (my wife agrees too) and the fact that the beaches there are topless ...well .... the glories of creation !!!

  Spud --> the lackluster meetings

  I really think they have to do something with the Service Meeting.

  I mean, after a full day at work, sitting there at 9PM listening to the same stuff, week after week. Do more, do more, do more.

  They should create a summarized version of the School and Service Meeting ... about 20 minutes each. In the door at 7PM .. out by 8:15PM

  Announcing that Elders are no longer Elders

  in the past year or so a local congregation has had several announcements that "so-and-so is no longer serving as an elder.".

  one of these elders has served in the watchtower organization since the 1940's.

  one thing apparent is the "organization's" lack of recognition and/or appreciation for its own.

  Any time spent recognizing the hard work and devotion of a dear elder would take time away from one of the Kingdom Ministry parts for the week or cut into a part about how our ministy is a demonstration of love to others.

  JW's .... why AREN'T we more like JEWS ???

  i never got a good answer on this question and have discussed this with other members in the borg:.

  we jw's share a lot in common with jews.

  just in this century, both groups have suffered extreme persecution, especially under the nazis in europe.

  We JW's share a lot in common with Jews. Just in this century, both groups have suffered extreme persecution, especially under the Nazis in Europe. Both groups have in one way or another, been victims of religious hatred and often discriminated against because of their beliefs. This has often resulted in each group being relatively isolated from others in whatever country they live in.

  Yet why is it that Jews, in general, get along and can thrive in their own environments much better than we JW's ???

  There often appears to be so much friction when JW's work for other JW's and anywhere that money is involved. I even have heard more than one elder comment that it is often better for a brother NOT to work for another JW.

  Jews, outside of their synagogs, have their own support networks and businesses that readily do business with other Jews (and probably prefer doing business with other Jews) ... why are we as JW's (that call one another "brother") different from the Jews in this regard ???

  it was great to see that simon passed yet another microsoft exam.

  i am currently beginning my mcse track and wondering if anyone else could recommend good training guides or braindump sites.. i currently have the sybex books which i have been told are pretty good.. any other recommendations?.

  I'm fortunate in that I have access to any hardware at work to use as I please. I do have my own mini-network set up in my office with 2000 Server installed.

  I will also check the Measureup and Selftest products you recommended. I think I have access to a Transcender course.

  I spoke with a friend on the phone that attended and he told me there was nothing new this year. Same format, similar experiences, interviews, as last year except this year it ended on time.

  there's a great example of how ignorant jws are in the november 8th awake (oil: will it ever run out).. on the letters page: (the writer is from the ukraine, so i *hope* something's been lost in the translation... but why would they print it if it was?).

  Is Bum Wiping Wrong?

  Excellent post Perry.

  I don't have my CD handy to research the issue but is bum wiping considered "touching oneself" and thus a reflection of greed and something to avoid ? Does one's motivation come into play here ?
