  i am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.

  gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.

  to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

  Reader: There was a sense of realization that as far as adults go, they may have a case if there is evidence that the adult consciously made the decision. As far as minors go, they know they can't win and do go through the motions. the grey area is those in the mid-teens.

  The aspect of mature minors is still being determined by each Province and the SCC. So cases like Bethany Hughes will continue to be pursued agressively as will any doctor disobeying a directive of an adult patient that signs off on all liability against the hospital and doctors.

  Small children, they will kick up a fuss to impress the flock but that's about it

  Been busy trying to make a real difference for others with my life which precludes a lot of time being spent online.

  I was at the Canada Branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the Legal Department, Service Desk and Writing Dept. I helped write a couple of Watchtower articles and some for the Canadian Kingdom Ministry.

  Unlike some, I can verify my Bethel record both with many known posters here as well as by media reports after my departure.

  I would love Johnny to come on to this thread as well and throw out his allegations. But I will ask for verifiable details. I still know many Brooklyn, Patterson and Walkill Bethelites and it will be easy to prove one way or another the reliablity of claims made.

  As far as my lack of posts over the past year or two.... To quote the Godfather, "I keep trying to get out but they keep pulling me back in"

  i'm reading crisis of conscience right now and even raymond franz mentioned in his book that ted jaracz didnt vote during governing body sessions based off of 'a gut feeling' like dan sydlik and lyman swingle did, but voted based off of having 'a mean spirit (dont quote me on that) but bascially got an overall vibe that ted jaracz was not a very nice man.

  and whats this about the child abuse policy that he enforced?

  what did he do that made every ex-jw's in america hate him?

  Ted was a power hungry old man. His wife was a "nice Candian" who allowed herself to succumb to the power of be the wife of a GB member.

  for Ted it was about obedience to him as a member of the gb. Very little mattered more to him. It was about strict obedience.

  He was a dictator and Biblical principle either worked for him or it was disregarded.

  Do 'general' masons, understand what their symbology means?

  among them and their associates, almost all are based on faces of cherubs, serpent as the god of healing, many things from solomon's temple.

  i know those who continue to make them and use them, must have an idea of what they represent and the reason for them.

  i don't know, if the general members have any clue or if they are just in it for their own reasons, the association, benefits, to help others, or to advance their life/career, etc.

  As a 32nd degree Mason both within the York and Scottish Rites, I can say with complete certainty that the majority of this thread is pure bullocks.

  Don't buy into the hype. research symbolisms in any library. There is nothing to very little left "a secret" with the Masons. Our rituals are online, symbols are examined thoroughly, handshakes revealed.

  But everyone loves a good conspiracy.

  A relationship question for middle aged men

  my dilemma...i have enjoyed a very fun and active dating life these last four years of freedom.

  most dates end by me moving on (always another fish out there).

  last fall i started dating someone i really like (as in i would like a commitment).

  I am 45, single, never married and no kids. I am also very happy. I do like dating but have not found someone who would make me happier being with them than I am a single guy. I certainly would not likely know if she was that right person after only a few months of dating.

  Do you enjoy his company? Is it your fear of being alone that is driving this or is it really about the relationship. Not knowing either you or the guy it si tough to say, but at this point in your life after having raised a family, is it more valuable to have someone with whom you can share daily activities and special moments (like you have right now) or is it about 'moving in together/marriage" even at the risk of losing what is apparently making you happy.

  When/If the right gal comes into my life, I certainly will not be jumping into having her move in or marriage.

  JW's and FEMA Community Emergency Response Teams?

  was talking to a current jw elder contact a while back and he mentioned to me that "the society" was wanting local elders (and i assume ms's) to take fema community emergency response team training.

  I recently met a fellow ex JW who is 23 years younger than me but is almost a female version of me. Bot in the looks department but in personality, outlook, and intelligence. Everytime we speak it is like I am listening to myself 20 years ago.
