Just to add further to my above post. Out of all those who either were pushed or jumped of their own free will. The majority were in the 18-25:year age bracket.

for those still "in" what's the mood
by lastchance inin my area the general sense is bleak.
many are in survival mode.
even at the convention the appearance of the majority was unhappy and tired.

These are the stats for the last 2 years.
3% disfellowshipped. They all come back. Basically kids who had no where else to go. Be interesting to see if they stay in.
6% just walked out the door under strained circumstances e.g marriage break up, and / or didn't like the way they were treated. I fit into this category.
Since walking out the door there has been a further 3% that i have heard of who are either inactive now or very sporadic meeting attenders.
They have had a publisher reshuffle in order to redistribute numbers to prevent a congregation from collapsing.
And to top it all off my family think there is wondrous growth and Jehovah is speeding it up in the time of the end. I just roll my eyes back and agree.

BOE 2014-07-11 Use of ministerial servants where the number of elders is limited
by WatchTower87 into all bodies of elders.
the congregation secretary should arrange for this letter to be retained in the congregation permanent file of policy letters.
he may also wish to update the congregation copy of the index to lettersfor bodies of elders (s-22) at this time as well.

I think trying to find ministerial servants and elders are the least of their problems. If I was them I would be thankful if they could just retain their youth.

GB member Anthony Morris mentions concerned JW letter at RC
by Acluetofindtheuser ingb member anthony morris mentioned a letter that was sent to bethel by a concerned jw fearing the gt.
he mentioned it on the last sunday talk.
i always wondered if any letter sent to bethel ever reached gb eyes.

Yes they do read the letters. I remember in CoC, Ray mentioning how he took a letter from a publisher that got screwed over from the 1975 debacle.

Yup Devonport assembly hall was originally a movie theater. Now it's a block of apartments. I would hate to think what that block of land would be worth now.

Although Papakura is a reasonable location and the area of land the assembly Hall sits on is much bigger. It's still no where near the prestige of Devonport.

Steve2= I have wondered (and it wouldn't surprise me) if the powers that be are eyeing that assembly hall in auckland and planning on putting it on the market. I also wonder if it would of been more advantageous financially to have remained in Devonport than to have moved to its present location. I was in Devonport a few weeks back, and it's certainly a wealthy area.

WHEN WAS THE VERY LAST ARTICLE ON BLOOD IN EITHER THE WATCHTOWER OR THE AWAKE?
by steve2 inthere's been a buzz on this forum - on and off but currently on - that there has not been an article in any watchtower publication on the blood ban for a while - which feeds speculation that the organization is distancing itself from this doctrinal absurdity.
does that mean there's been nothing mentioned about the blood doctrine for months or years?
specifically, when did the watchtower last mention the blood ban?

Why WT reform would never work
by JimmyPage ini used to think how great it would be if the wt finally made long overdue changes.
higher education would no longer be frowned upon.

I don't think they could reform even if they wanted to. They have painted themselves into a corner. But a step in the right direction would be to put a bit of life into the songs.
