Didn't you think that it was "angelic direction" that the young JW brought the tract straight to you? Jehovah trying to warn you or call you back into the fold?
That is how the WT would tell the story.
i went to brooklyn heights today, mapping out the exact route for our protest march on 10/13.. as i am waiting for the traffic light to change (on the corner of pearl st and sand st) out of the corner of my eye what do i see:.
a young man in a wool suit (81 degrees outside kiddo!
) approaching me with a tract in hand.. poor kid.

for those not up-to-date on my situation ... .
i was disfellowshipped and i posted about it here.. i wrote an appeal letter, and wrote about it here.
so, i just got home from a weeks vacation, i was home for 3 hours.
What's the phone number to your KH? We should call up there the night they make the reversal announcement and congratulate them for their outstanding theocratic decision.
isn't it funny how certain smells can have a strong effect in evoking distant memories?.
i was reminded of this when i just opened my desk drawer.
a little earlier today i bought a local newspaper (which is unusual for me) and didn't have time to read it so i stuck it in the drawer.
KH smell, WT literature smell and the District Convention restroom smell.
Aw, the lovely smells of the Truth, unforgettable.
Did the WT sabotage and delete my first post?
Here it is again:
Of all the annointed candidates, why did the WT appoint these younger, less experienced annointed ones?
The older, more experienced, long time annointed men who qualified must feel overlooked or slighted. Or do they?
The appointment of these younger, middle aged annointed so "late in this time of the end" suggests that the WT hierarchy knows that the Armageddon they have prophesied is not as "near" as they have warned.
The WT strategically appointed younger annointed men to carry the organization over the next 50 years. With smoke and mirror, the WT is preparing themselves for a long haul, with no "end" in sight.
When the WT annointed remnant finally dies off, including these younger annointed, the WT will simply twist and change their doctrine again to support their adherence to their "urgent preaching work" and their "Armageddon is near" teachings. And millions will continue to follow and believe.
Meanwhile, the WT executives will continue their construction work, expanding their property holding, under the protection of their legal staff, breaking printing & publishing records, stroking their egos, living an easy, comfortable, all expenses paid life, traveling/vacationing the world, being wined and dined by the loyal JWs kissing their feet and believing their sly rhetoric.
That is what the inner workings of the WT has always been about and that is what it will continue to be about. And the WT and JWs will damn your soul if you speak out.

after almost a year of living abroad, away from my parents and away from anything even remotely watchtower related, having allowed myself to not worry about these silly little things (yet convincing my parents that i was still going); now that i've been back for about 6 weeks, i feel that i have to put on a double effort to cover over things that i've said or done, and avoid using "suspect" words or phrases like "cheers" or "good luck".
its driving me crazy at the moment, and 10 times more than it was doing before i moved out.
today, i had a mini panic attack at having told a "worldly" friend of mine "good luck".
You could start saying that you are depressed or have chemical allergies to KH perfumes, colognes, cleaning agents, etc. Some personal ailment that makes you physically ill and disables you from joining them like you used to.
Or you could blame it on work, scheduling. Go out of town a lot. Find some reason to say that you got your feelings hurt and are now stumbled emotionally.
have you ever sent letters to the wt society and if so what was their response to you?.
did they send you an informative reply?.
did they send you a smug reply?.
Whatever happened to 1 Peter 3:15 "always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason"?
I guess that does not apply to the WT Society?
have you ever sent letters to the wt society and if so what was their response to you?.
did they send you an informative reply?.
did they send you a smug reply?.
Have you ever sent letters to the WT Society and if so what was their response to you?
Did they send you an informative reply?
Did they send you a smug reply?
Did they dispatch elders to investigate you?
Or did they totally ignore you?
if a jw were to be arrested for their preaching work or otherwise pursued by law authorities for their preaching work, the wt instructs jw's to voluntarily choose jail time instead of simply paying the fines to avoid jail and maintain their freedom.. on page 81 of the "defending and legally establishing the good news" booklet the wt orders:.
"the apostles in ancient times did not pay fines.
today jehovah's witnesses follow the course of the apostles when convicted for refusing to stop preaching the gospel.
In the WT legal defense booklet, the WT teaches that the Scriptures do NOT allow paying the fines because:
"the apostles in ancient times did not pay fines. Today Jehovah's Witness follow the course of the apostles"
In the Watchtower, April 1, 1975; "Question from Readers" the WT changes their teaching: "whereas fines are imposed
as a less severe measure that allows the family life and employment of the individual to continue uninterrupted,
the individual not being removed from family and community life by being confined to jail. There is nothing in
the Scriptures that rules against a Christian’s availing himself of this more lenient provision, nor do the
Scriptures require us to take a course that will force authorities to show how deep their opposition to God’s
kingdom may go."
NOW the WT tries to use the Scriptures to teach that you CAN simply pay the fines?
So "What Does the Bible REALLY Teach?"
greendawn asked this question at: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/94462/1604122/post.ashx#1604122 (hope i did that right).
i think this question deserved a thread of its own.. rose.
i hope that's ok, greendawn.
