They say if you don't vote, then you don't have the right to complain. I voted, so if Obama gets elected, if I so much as stub my toe, I will complain. For ever so much that the left has griped about Bush, I will do the same for Obama.

I am hoping for a miracle that California will go for McCain, even if just by one vote. That would be a major victory. Oh yeah and go proposition 8.

Is Voting A Waste of Time?
by sammielee24 ininteresting article -.
why voting in the u.s. election is a complete waste of time... politics / us politicsnov 02, 2008 - 02:05 pmby: clive_maund.
the united states likes to portray itself as the bastion of freedom and champion of democracy, but if this were really true then there would be at least 6 or 8 different parties to choose from at election time, and given that it is now a country of over 300 million people a choice of at least 10 different parties would be more appropriate, but instead there are just two.

Big Oil, Big Money: One more reason the election is over
by willyloman inif the election wasn't already over, it is now.
the middle class americans (and i'm one of them) have lost billions in home and stock equity in recent months, this, from cnn's website this morning, should put the final nail in the gop coffin:.
exxon mobil breaks profit record, earns $14.8 billionexxon mobil corp. set a quarterly profit record for a u.s. company today, surging past analyst estimates, cnnmoney.com reports.

Born Agains:- What do you beileve?
by LouBelle inthere was a post on here about been being a born again christian.
i must admit i don't know all the ins & outs of being one, but i did pop into a church and did a stint for 3 months before i left as their doctrine become clearer to me - i couldn't stay.. i'm not sure if these beliefs are held all around the earth by bas so clarification would be welcome:.
1. paying tithe: i was told by the leaders of the church that this is a mandate from god/the bible and it plays a key roll in doing the will of the lord.. 2. once saved...always saved & a constant laying your sins at the foot of the cross.. 3. the belief in the rapture.

I agree with all of the above points except once saved/always saved, as I am a Free Will Baptist. There are alot of different denominations within born again christianity and no 2 are exactly alike. As for the gibberish, well some speak in tongues, but not all.

by XxJazzxX inhey friends.
this will be my first serious post in a while.
just wanna know if anyone on the board has ever been in the same predicament as i'm in right now based on recent events with my d/fed jw wife and my jw in-laws.. at any way i'm not trying to sound selfish nor care about myself in any way, but my experiences of me,my daughter and my d/fed wife living under my in-laws doesnt sit well with me anymore.

Question, was your wife Disfellowshipped when you married her?
I don't know if there is any correct answer in all of this, but my best advice would be for you to gradually work your family back to PA. Also you have every right to take your daughter to church with you. -

Going to Church
by excito-are ini went to church in my local town while the witnesses attended the perth assembly.
it was a good sermon and i actually felt very upbuilt and refreshed after listening to it.
i really thought i would of felt guilt or some negative feeling for doing this, but quite the opposite.

Very few Paul, most become Atheist or Agnostic. Baptist XJW's really are a minority. The county I originate from is predominately Baptist of various denominations and only one Kingdom Hall for 2 whole counties.
