Does anyone remember in the 80s when having the tetragrammaton (YHWH) displayed on the back of your car was the thing? Brothers who did pen striping on cars would custom make them.
I wonder why that died out.
i was walking into a local food store at noon on saturday and i see someone wearing a tie coming into the store.
it was a brother who i have seen before (in a nearly congregation) wearing a very nice shirt and tie.
it had the jw.org logo embroidered on the pocket.

i remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.
In the 1970s when I was 6 or 7 years old I attended a hall with no air conditioning. One summer day it was so hot that they propped open the front double doors to try to get some airflow.
A stray cat walked into the lobby, walked slowly up the right-hand aisle (there were 3 sections of seats), sniffed around the stage, and then slowly sauntered back by way of the left-hand aisle and back out onto the street.
And, nobody did anything about it! This was a ten minute or so event that kept me thoroughly entertained. There was some subdued snickering, but, generally, most people pretended it wasn't happening.
We are ready for the Mouth!
it's ok to share your xmas wishes here -- none of us is going to buy you anything, anyway!.
i have a list of books on my wishlist at amazon, some about critical thinking, some about knitting, some about yurok indian basketry.
i wouldn't mind getting any of those.
Ah, Rebel, I've just had the remodel (with the exception of the kitchen) and now I'm looking for maintenance tools.
They really are a "real gift" at this point in my life.
(And also world peace...)
it is xmas time and perfumes and colognes are on the list.
what do you really love for a scent if you were being given a gift?.
I also get headaches from some perfumes, mostly the ones that are pink or gold, but not blue. There must be some essential oil that is a problem, but I can't figure it out. So I mostly don't wear any perfume at all.

I want a Shark steam mop. Santa seemed really sympathetic on the subject and with the subject of home appliances in general.
Maybe I should go back and ask for a new refrigerator...
besides being overworked and overstressed almost everyday in the past few months,.
i've had to deal with a 'broken heart', insecurities with my physical appearance (gained a lot of weight),.
and being lonely because i started distancing myself from the 'congregation', i just want to cry, sob, and bawl out here in my bedroom.
Please find a way to get a few days off work. You really need the time to rest your body and your mind. You might be able to cry if you are able to stop putting on that happy work face for everyone and get back in touch with your own feelings.
daughter is 3 now, that's a little less than i've been on this forum.
you can find my life story in earlier posts.
enough to say that i have a generous amount of visitation with her.. i picked her up and was talking about the lights some of her neighbors had.
She doesn't even probably have a good idea of what Christmas really is and what it involves.
Take her for a drive to look at bright lights. Let her open presents. These things likely won't mean Christmas to her since the only thing she knows about it is that it's something bad that Mommy doesn't like.
She might have been prejudiced against Santa, though. My parents called him Phony Baloney and we laughed at all the poor children who were lied to. You might not want to do the trip to sit on Santa's lap.

I like the stuff in blue bottles. Other colors I don't like as much.
i just buried my beloved poddle, little brother.
he died suddenly.
i know to most people that is not an important event.
I once had a big, beautiful orange tabby. I got him when I was about 22 years old. He used to ride on my shoulder, paws hanging down my back, while I walked around the house.
I had a miserable pregnancy and he would sleep right next to me during my afternoon nap, under the covers snuggled next to my belly. He knew when I wasn't feeling well and would crawl up on my lap.
He lived for 18 years and it wasn't enough. I had him cremated and he sits on top of my jewelry box, the only one of my pets I couldn't bear to bury, in case we ever move.
He was the great love of my life, petwise. It still hurts now, two years on.
But, there's another orange tabby sitting at my feet right now. He's a bit sassy, but he's become quite the little love bug. I hope he stays with me for a long time.
Pets are people, too.
