Just when you think you're past it all...
by Phaedra inyou"re now the "unbelieving mate" who is now pursuing your degree just before your mid-life crisis hits because until you woke up to the tatt, you bought into the whole "you'll never grow older in this system of things...".
you're watching your parents grow old fully-invested.... your spouse still invested because "there is no better alternative....".
your in-laws still won't come over tomorrow (thanksgiviing day) to eat turkey because it might just look like.... just when you think you're past it all and you feel that little bit of jw that is still there at your core eventhough you think you're beyond jwism..... and you remember and empathize and love your loved ones just a little bit more... because as of yet, they cannot find it in them to distance themselves from somethign you found limiting, closing, dark, and oppressive.. may they all find their freedom one day.

It's extremely sad to realize that my parents most likely will spend the rest of their lives in the organization.
I just try to interact with their authentic personalities as much as possible. I've been fairly successful with that recently.
But, when their cult personalities rear their ugly heads, I say goodbye until another day.

You're right Orphan, it was magenta, not fuchsia now that I think of it.

Thanks, Orphan. That's what I remember from 20 years ago, so, yeah, I could be mixing things up a bit.
I just remember being explicitly instructed to purchase yellow, cyan blue, and fuchsia paints for all of our painting. Whether they were called primary or not escapes me.
Now that I think about it, there was some discussion about the primary colors of light being different than the primary colors of pigment, but, again, that was 20 years ago.

Actually, according to my college art class, it's not red that is the primary color, it's fuchsia.
Red can't be primary because it can be mixed to create by adding a little yellow to fuchsia. If you need to mix anything to create a color, then it's not primary.

Wal-Mart Workers Plan Huge Protest on Black Friday
by talesin inwal-mart, which pays a top wage of $12.00+ to its full-time employees, is under attack, once again, by its employees and those who would like to unionize them.. i can't speak to the usa, but here in canada, most wal-mart employees are not full time.
it is mostly a part-time employer, so zero benefits.
in my opinion, that makes the $12.00+ look a lot smaller when you envision the actual paycheque.

Listener, I didn't realize that you were in Australia. It's great that part time workers get partial benefits there.
In the US, part time usually means zero benefits. Zero benefits means no access to healthcare unless on the public dime, ie Medicaid, the healthplan for those in poverty.
Why any employer, especially the largest one making enormous profits, should be allowed to be subsidized by taxpayer money is beyond me.
Since we get our health care through our employer, and that's usually only available through full time work, working part time is a HUGE negative.

Why, listener do you speak of "the Government" as if it were a "them" rather than "us?"
We are the government. It is only the will of the people that favors subsidizing big businesses over legislating worker friendly laws. It is not some nebulous other; "the government."

Maybe I didn't make clear my position when stating that our economy is built on part time jobs. While this clearly explains, coupled with high unemployment, the reason that people can't just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, I CLEARLY THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM.
Walmart contributes to this problem by employing 40% of its workers part time and being the largest employer. With its profits, there is no need for this amount of its workforce to not be full time.
I get that companies are capitalist and, by their very nature are only concerned by their bottom line. That us why things like minimum wage, the right to ask for schedule changes, and the percent of full time employees need to be LEGISLATED.

Thanks, OrphanCrow. I did some internet surfing on color psychology and learned that orange can indeed cause anger. But, so can red, and I love red.
I still feel bad about making my guest change his orange shirt. Very rude of me.

The problem with your theory, ADCMS is that unemployment is high and part time jobs are some of the only jobs available. New job growth has produced a lot of part time jobs. Another problem is that the economy is built on these jobs; someone will always have to work them.
The third problem is the irrational belief in the "bootstrap" myth. It works for a few, but there are many many people who work their butts off their entire life and never make decent money. The US economy is built on it. It's perfectly legal to pay people $7.50 an hour. And that is just unacceptable.
And by the way, I do my best not to support big oil as much as possible. I drive a fuel efficient car and heat my house with electric. As soon as solar power is affordable, I'll install solar panels on my house, as well.
