when my son matt was three years old, he was molested by his 26 year old aunt (my sister in law).

My own experience is similar but I am not qualified to express it as well as you have - the elders are neither qualified nor capable of dealing with this sort of thing and should back off -

if its a crime call the police the elders are abusing children by conduct such as you describe and they should rot in hell for adding to a toddlers burden.

Its been said before but what an outrage against God these people are - Do they ever sleep at night ? Yes because they are not left worrying over the mess created as long as they have obeyed the branch office / legal-service desk

Feeling Powerless and Vulnerable

the past several nights i have had very disturbing dreams that, while not the nightmares i used to have, still leave me feeling powerless and vulnerable.

i feel like the other shoe will drop soon and i feel totally unprepared while just waiting for it to happen.. in one dream i witness my niece as a little girl back when she was first starting grade school.

since i have never known my nieces and nephews as teenagers, i tend to dream of them as they were when they were children.

Given that the effect on you is so serious PLEASE seek some help - talk to someone as (in addition to posting here) you will begin to regain control if you decide what you do/talk about

I am not a psycholgist (cant even spell it !) but I understand and empathise exactly with you - I hope others may have more solid advice to help.

Remember that others on this site are concerned and that you are not alone emotionally as many will empathise / be genuinely concerned.

In the home of a JW family the GB still control everything - in the legal corporations nominal p[eople serve but they do the bidding of the spiritual masters. No 'given-one' is ever going to change anything that has stood for decades - what amazes me is how these cavortings are sold to the flock as advances when anyone outside can see the flea circus for what it is - yes the ringmasters are still the GB

Re Insurance - WT has practise of having congs take Insurance thru the WTS (it then "holds" this vast pot of premiums) & it then itself takes some reinsurance to cover liabilities. Congregations claiming on this are reported to not find it easy to have claims met to the extent real insurance would pay out.

For Branch bldgs & Brookly complex the cost of insurance is probably too high for them to consider - after all if anything happens an appeal can be made to the brothers.

Disaster Recovery plans exist for any major contingency and sadly the loss of Brooklyn would have only a minor and transient affect on operations.

it was bad enough when knorr was president but since the governing body came and in effect deposed him things have gotten progressively worse.. how exactly did the governing body come about?

they did not invent themselves, sure there was the board of directors but they did not have the kind of power the governing body has.

when i was young we were encouraged instructed to pioneer - sell wts or die (to quote running man) - it was wrong to pursue higher education or a professional career.

many are in a similar position facing old age with dread and have had a life living on far less than if a 'real' job had been taken .

The WT will claim that you were not forced to Pioneer - it was a matter of personal conscience/choice (or to put it in simple terms emotional blackmail) -

Tobacco Companies dont make people smoke yet they are being sued for millions by smokers? ANy chance of unlocking the WT money box?

while in one context that is true, there is one problem.

in fact, many of the bad experiences people have with jws are caused by actions that the society does not encourage.. .

logan i have started a new thread simply because if a jw read your old one they may be happy enough not go back to reread this if it was posted there.. one of the things that kept me holding on to the jw faith was the thought that many of the bad experiences people have with jws are caused by actions the soceity does not encourage.

At some point, say a judicial committee where a woman is being grilled about her rape, doesn't the elder have to accept responsibility for his conduct? I agree that all things come from Brooklyn, but I also believe that an elder must look at the impact of their own conduct on the Great Unwashed.

Some years back I sat on a committee re a rape and it was handled in a kindly manner - no indecent questions, no improper suggestions as to what the woman was doing to 'lead to' the rape.

All the elders were deeply concerned for the woman and her emotional well-being - we were also aware that we skirted the official WT policy and did not consider it our place to discuss how the poor woman resisited the unwarranted attack. We knew what we were dealing with and knew the innocent woman - we did not need to have here recite soime natra by rote "I Screamed..." etc to assure us of her blamelessness

We all felt that we had no right to even meet this person other than as shepherds - not the line approved when the CO turned up and the gossip mills started - in these situations the SISTERS start forest fires of gossip which do immeasurable harm

Incidents like this really separate the elders into those who care for the flock and the faithful WT herders of cattle.

the crisis over north korea's nuclear weapons programme deepened yesterday as the north claimed it had made enough plutonium for six atomic bombs, and a former us defence secretary warned that the two countries could be at war by the end of the year.. the latest claim from pyongyang was communicated to the bush administration last week, three months after north korea said it was beginning to reprocess 8,000 spent nuclear fuel rods that were under united nations seal until the un inspectors were ejected from the country at the end of 2002.. us intelligence agencies are now trying to determine whether the boast is true or merely another bluff by the reclusive stalinist regime.. either way, the declaration has pushed the us president a step nearer deciding whether to accede to north korea's demand for direct negotiations - and thus drop his previous insistence that he would never bow to "nuclear blackmail" - or to accelerate plans for a military strike against the north's nuclear installations.. that spectre was raised yesterday by william perry, defence secretary under president clinton, when he told the washington post that the bush administration was "losing control" of the situation.. mr perry is a specialist on korea who helped prepare the military action which mr clinton came close to launching against yongbyon and other key north korean sites in 1994. he now fears that the north is not only close to a nuclear test to show the world it is a nuclear power, but also that it could sell a weapon to a terrorist group for use against the us.. "the nuclear programme now under way in north korea poses an imminent danger of nuclear weapons being detonated in american cities," mr perry said, adding that he had reached that conclusion after talks with bush officials in washington, and with senior figures in china and south korea.. china, reckoned to have the greatest leverage over of kim jong il's renegade state, launched a new effort this week to draw the north into regional talks to defuse the crisis, but mr perry told the washington post that as far as he could see, the "diplomatic track is inconsequential" and going nowhere.. the korean crisis has been largely ignored as washington has focused almost exclusively on iraq.

How would you tackle the USA problem ? as they are intent on bulldozing any opposition to their plans for world hegemony and they have a history of aggressive actions - not much different to NK so who is going to take them on or is it OK for the US because they are bigger than anyone else

When will the Isle of Man be seen as part of the Axis of Evil? And be targeted by the USA ?( touch of Irony for non UK readers) IOM is small independent island just offshore to UK with a form of self-government. Who determines what is good - bad right-wrong ?

Incidentally much debate in UK papers over Bullying at school - in the real world the role model for bullying is the US and most world leaders (?) fall at GWs feet so what lesson for youngsters - might is right ????
