No applauses at my congregation. No comments, but the money the congregation received in the donations box was too much. I think the real reason for the WT published this new book was to get more money.

Did anyone applaud the release of the OD book at YOUR hall?
by proplog2 inthere had been some buzz because no one was supposed to know about the release.. i swear everyone at my hall must be visitors to this forum.
or the elder's wives network must've done their usual job of telling everyone.. i would have expected an applause.
not even a line of people to get the book.

The future of an assembly hall

its a very big place, and 10.000 people can be sat down in a comfort place for attending the talks and spending the time during the conventions.
why am i talking about this?

Jeff, you`re ok. This assembly hall has 10.000 seats, and its covered by a ceiling but without walls. At distance it seems to be an ufo, completely metallic and brilliant.

Here in Santiago of Chile, we have a district convention hall, called "El Trébol". Its a very big place, and 10.000 people can be sat down in a comfort place for attending the talks and spending the time during the conventions. Why am I talking about this? Only for making you know that we can`t use "El Trébol" for a long time. The mayor of the sector where the hall is, is trying to close the place because the neiborghood is demanding it.
Can you imagine 1.000 people every weekend, with their cars, not buying in the local stores, making too much noise with the loudspeakers in a sector where the people like to be in bed until late? Of course the people is tired to have a hall too near to their houses, with the JW disturbing their daily activities.
For the WT, this assembly hall costed U$ 4 million. The publisher must pay it yet.

No Trespassing!! Breaking news for local JW's.
by Mulan inthis week at the book study, at all congregations in the u.s., a letter was read saying if you go to a house or property with a "no trespassing" sign, you must not enter, or knock on the door.
you have to leave immediately.
a sign saying "no solicitors" is too ambiguous, and they are to use their own judgment, and don't have to knock.

Hi everybody
Here in Chile, the same letter was explained to all the congregations. It's was interesting to know that the branch office won't help anyone with lawyers or assistance if the publisher doesn't obey to the instructions read in that letter.
The branch office told us we can get in jail, or pay a lot of money if the home owner demands because we don't respect the "NO trespassing" or something like that.

Maybe you've read Awake! july 8, 2004.... the article about Blainville, a place where the freedom for the preaching work was restricted, but the court finally took a positive decision for the WT interest. The court's declaration use the expression "Big Brother" in this way: "In a free and democratic society, a city council must not act as a Big Brother trying to decide to whom the people can receive in their homes at night or weekends"
As an explanation, the WT says in the same page of that magazine the next: The expression "Big Brother" is from George Orwell's 1984 fiction novel, and it corresponds to the lider of a totalitarian state, who controls to all the people in all their activities.
This means, the WT knows about totalitarian states, and what means "Big Brother"..... and of course it is so, the WT itself acts as a Big Brother controlling everything about its fellowship..... what they can see, read... where they can go, who can be their friends..etc. The WT at this moment and ever decides for the JW all about their lives and their possessions..... what can you say about this?

Meetings on sunday... do you know why?

there's a letter from the branch office in chile dated on 01-march-2002, page 3, point n 7 where we can find the reasons they have to prefer sunday for the meetings and not saturday, of course all depends on the quantity of congregations sharing the same kh.
they say that as the co informs, when the congregation has the meeting on sunday there s better averages on the number of people at the kh and the time spended on the field service grow up.

There's a letter from the branch office in Chile dated on 01-march-2002, page 3, point N° 7 where we can find the reasons they have to prefer sunday for the meetings and not saturday, of course all depends on the quantity of congregations sharing the same KH. They say that as the CO informs, when the congregation has the meeting on sunday there´s better averages on the number of people at the KH and the time spended on the field service grow up. They say: "apparently, to have the meeting on saturday gives the brothers the sensation that the sunday is a "free" day, a day for doing a lot of things less important than the theocratic activities."
For the WT having a day for you, for spending it in your owns activities, for resting or being with your family is almost a sin. If you think in the possibility to attend to yourself.... you will have to run and look for the help of the elders......LOL!!

never in my life i had felt the humiliation to hear something offensive against of my person, and of course not in the place most "sacred".... the kh.
yesterday, yesterday one of the brothers giving his talk at the meeting offended me saying i was a "son of a bitch".. what do you think of that?..

The brother spoke about the organization as our "mother organization" and then he told us we are "sons" of this "mother"..... he told me I was a "son of a bitch"........ what offensive!!!!
