Gee, now where have I seen that before? Hmmm...
Oh yeah, that was when I was in the WT organization. Any connection? Might it be that the inconsiderate ones who just speak their mind, often without insight or thinking out the repercussions of their actions, help drive out those who do have training and insight? (Even unwittingly)

It IS remarkable that standing up against the authority of the GB, even if just in your mind and then revelaing that somehow to someone, is a more serious crime than what Hitler, Stalin, Franco, Saddam Hussein, and a multitude of others have done, isn't it? You can compare it to any other crime or sin, and those other crimes/sins pale by comparision. The loyal Witness mindset on this matter, whether ever thought out by them or not, is nothing short of stunning...

I began laughing imediately upon reading this thread's title b/c I thought, "Well, the congregations I was in were all pretty much sitcoms!" No need to come up with anything.
Then, after reading Island Man's comments, I realized that it often is quite tragic. It reminds me of one brother who regularly used to say to me that his personal life was a soap opera, largely b/c his fellow elders, due to their incompetence, had screwed up his life so badly.
I also understand that GB member Geoffrey Jackson had some ideas about creating some kind of humor re: self-admitted funny gaffs within the Org during one of those in-house Bethel entertainment nights, but got into trouble b/c of something similar he tried to do at a Gilead graduation. I doubt if he's tried to pursue his comic "laugh at yourself" intentions after that setback.
