so i was talking to a substitute co, he and his wife recently returned from "the school for christian couples" .
anyways this couple has delayed having children in hopes of entering the circuit work, and have been sub coing for a couple years.
they both have well paying, good jobs.
In history you will find tousands of people sacrificing not only their fortunes, homes and relatives, becoming moncs nuns and and living "in the wilderness" eating worms and grasshoppers. Many of them did that for religious reasons. The sad thing is that many of them believed in a priest, a pope or a GB. And these "besserwisser" only sucked them out and speated them out when they no longer could serve them. In fact beeing one of the first christians in the roman empire, was very, very dangeous. You could expect loosing you life...
So today the story goes on and on and on
Religious belives makes you blind and very irrational

Iám not a lady, but I can tell you at least there is one thing good with the Theocratic school, everyone who attends for a few years does got a rather good skills in public talking. I quited 10-15 years ago, and after that I got jobs that included much public talking. These jobs would never been offered to me if I hadn´t been trained in TeoSc. In fact the very first "speach" I gave was in KH. I was so nervous that I totally blancked out and went back to my seat saying absolutely nothing. But after a few years training I was able even to held speaches for people numered to over 6000. The only sad thing is that my manuscript was written by the Watcht. org. And that 6000 people had to listen to su much crap..

i was doing some research on the subject of beliefs and belief systems when i came across an on-line survey/test that supposedly helps you determine which religion or philosophy is most like your current beliefs.
if you're curious, you can take the quiz here: belief system selector quizafter answering the 20 questions the results were spit out!
tada!!!.
Interesting test and confirming what I already had a hunch about Secular humanist here,
JW last down on the list

How True you are talking. There is no such thing as the absolute and final truth. All things developes in time and new truth are revealed. The only interesting thing its to keep "on line" and evaluate your thoughts according to your coincensness. Hoping that your parents gave you some basic ideas of etics, moral and humanity.

the jehovah's witnesses say that adam decided to thinking independently and eat from the forbidden tree thus committing a terrible sin-disobeying.
how is thinking freely equivalent to disobedience?.
"in keeping with the principle of this proverb, adam acted selfishly and his foolish thinking distorted his way.

Your knowledge of the Bibel is very impressive. I believe that you have been a witnesses for many years. I will always turn to you when I need a Bible qoute or a reference from the societys viewpoint. I know that you are the only one that could give a correct answer.
But it looks like you know all these things and still belive there is an answer in the Bible texts?! What do you know about "higher Bibel criticism". What do you know about what science today know about the origin of all these texts? Do you have got a chance to study the "original" text often stored in the Vatican library? Who were the person that actually put alla these letters together? What did he exclude as "not being canonical?". It would be nice to have a conversation with you on these subjects.

The hole idea of giving independant thinking (a brain with intelligence) and IQ with un avarage of 100 and then say dont use it, it is as absurd as if I have got a car that could be given to fellow or brother or family member saying:
"Here is the car that you could use for getting you to your job or the hospital or wathever, but you are supposed NOT to use it. So I keep the kees to ensure that no onelse will be hurt for your bad driving."
Isn´t that humerous? Or is it just i game that a person with a mental dissorder like to play.

i think it's very likely there were ancient giants that thrived in a time in our distant past where earth's conditions were favourable for optimal genetic expression, as was the case with dinosaurs, etc.
there's very good evidence for this.
these giants would have dominated and ruled like gods and would have had their own mythology where they claimed to have descended from gods, such as we read of in the book of genesis with the nephalim.
According to Science (Archeology) as far as I know, they have found no scheletons, from the period before the flood 4300 years ago, that indicates there were existent giants (human)at that time. How come that we have 100.000 parts of scheletons before the flood and not one of those that were really giants. We know that some animals were "BIGGER" but no trace of human beeings been bigger. The oldest of these BIG animals such as the dinosaures and other speciments, disapeared over 300 millions of year before the "flood".
On the other hand experiments has been done to test various thechniqe to explain how the Pyramids were built, the Stonehenge a.s.f. Some archologist are quite sure that they know the techniqe, using a waste amount of slaves and animal power, such as elephants and others.

Beeing an Atheist, does not mean that you lack of moral, ethics, or consience. In fact it could be the other way around. If you still believe that a Good should give you a higher etics, higher moral, it depends on what that good tells you. If you listen to JHWH and what he demands you to think, with all slaughter, murder killing of animals, war against enemies .a.s.f.
In my Atheistic world, my conserne, is the suffering of the living creatures. How can I help them? How can I contribute to make the world a better world. Is that a shocking philosofy?
