Jannes and Jambres: Hyksos Pharaohs of the Fifteenth Dynasty?
by Leolaia inin 2 timothy 3:8, we encounter an enigmatic verse: "men like this defy the truth just as jannes and jambres defied moses.
" these names do not occur in the ot but they are widely attested in post-exilic jewish tradition as the magicians who competed against moses in performing miraculous signs and wonders.
according to the book of jannes and jambres, the two magicians were summoned by pharaoh separately:.

Jesus and the Samaritan Woman
by Leolaia intwice (john 4:29, 39), the samaritan woman is said to have reported to her townspeople that a man had told her ?everything?
one may surmise that those whom she told knew rather well precisely what the things were that she had done, for they followed her urging to see this remarkably perceptive stranger.
precisely what did jesus tell her that so moved her and others, and how did he go about it?

Interrelationships in versions of a Jesuine saying
by Leolaia inthe sayings of jesus, as oral formulations that eventually take written form, can differ widely among each other in the gospels.
i decided to take one example to study in detail the interrelationships between the recorded forms of the saying so i chose the "true family" saying that occurs in a wide variety of sayings, and which did not originate in q. i present the sayings below in their narrative settings and highlighted the different distinctive features of the forms.
1st jesuine sentence is a question: mk, mt, eb .

Rutherford's Views on Women
by Leolaia in"the women make monkeys or dupes of men.
the men have before effeminate, soft and easily influenced and have lost their real manhood and sturdiness in the affairs of state and home.
for instance, when men are sitting at a table and a woman approaches, all the men arise and pay her homage and thereby elevate her to a place above men.

Awake! says we can pray in Jesus' name!!!
by Leolaia inaccording to this, jesus is not just the mediator of the 144,000 -- he's the mediator of mankind!!
and apparently "dear jesus" prayers are okay!
the watch tower says i can say, "dear jesus, you are my mediator as you are for all mankind..." "the bible clearly says that jesus christ is mankind's redeemer, so he is mankind's mediator.

Resurrection Appearance to James the Just
by Leolaia inapostle paul provides an early list of jesus' resurrection appearances in 1 corinthians 15. it is important because this list was written before our canonical gospels were written and thus serves as an independent source of information.
paul writes:"christ died for our since, in accordance with the scriptures; that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day, in accordance with the scriptures; that he appeared first to cephas and secondly to the twelve.
next he appeared to more than 500 of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died; then he appeared to james, and then to all the apostles; and last of all he appeared to me too; it was as though i was born when no one expected it.

Simon, Cephas, Peter, Judas, Thomas, Didymus
by Leolaia inthis post is in response to peacefulpete's interesting post from my king david thread, which i quote below: .
leolaia...if you look again at 1cor you'll see peter is not there only an ebionite named cephas is.
the only reference to "peter" in any of "pauline" works is gal 2:7 and it is an interpolation made for the very reasons being discussed.

The ascension of King David to heaven
by Leolaia inthere is a rather obscure statement in acts 2:34 that specifies that "david himself never ascended to heaven".
the obvious question that arises from this remark is -- who ever believed that david ascended to heaven?
to answer this, we need to look where else but to the pseudepigrapha.
