Nope, here in the US criminals are tried WHERE THE CRIME OCCURS...the presumption is that the judge is unbiased.

the iraqis get things under control enough to where in a year or so the americans pull their troops out.
once the americans are gone, the 'provisional government' frees saddam, says 'welcome back mr president' and he takes charge of iraq again.

every time i have ever been in the dmv there were always several cops there.

Once a cheater always a cheater?
by Aalena ini caught my boyfriend of 8 years cheating on me about a month ago.
he claims it is the only time he has ever cheated and he never thought he would ever cheat nor would he ever do it again.

I want mercy not sacrifice
by peacefulpete ini stumbled across an interesting example of the role translating played in developing theology.
the words at matt 9:13 and 12:7 have jesus quoting hosea 6:6 as saying, "i want mercy and not sacrifice".
a lofty concept indeed, elevating human needs over cultic ritual.

This was a radical concept at the time in Yahwehism but a very different message than that of Matthew 9 and 12. It is true that Hosea was revolutionizing the cult by defining worship of Yahweh by social consciousness but the statement in discussion is specifically about relationship with Yahweh not humans.
Words evolve over time. Terrible doesn't mean today what it did 200 years ago.
Theologically, the readers of the scriptures might have come to understand this passage of Hosea as shared in Matt.

things I do not like about xmas

aside from the reasons jws give as it being a pagan holiday renamed..... i do not like the fact that parents think nothing of lying to their children about this mythical santa claus.
and the constant hollywood movies making anyone who exposes the gag as an evil monster...while giving children reasons to believe that santa claus really does exist after all...ignore your older friends who have been poisoned by the secular world.. i find it appalling to ever teach a child to simply expect people to give them things just because the calendar says a certain day.. i find the mindless devoution to christmas to be just as appalling as the brainwashing jws do against it... i see people in my office acting like german clocks... the clock strikes easter and the decorate the office, strikes holloween and they decorate again...strikes christmas and more decorations..... then the frets and worries over what to get who and how much to go into debt over it.. i knew one lady who spent over $300 on a child less than two and was very depressed about two weeks later when the novelty wore off and only very inexpensive things returned as the main attraction.

aside from the reasons JWs give as it being a pagan holiday renamed.... Don't ya think if most every culture has this winter festival, it's an intergal part of who we are as humans...I mean this from a sociological not religious bent.
I do not like the fact that parents think nothing of lying to their children about this mythical santa claus I never did this, I always told my kids about St Nicholas...vs...Santa Claus...they still wanted and lived the fantasy...no harm, no foul, kids live in a magical world until 6-8 years old
