LDH1 attacks Friday:
Lurkers take note. Yadork doesn't have a valid response to Caspian,so he resorts to the Ad Hominem attack....Debaters should avoid ad hominem arguments that question their opponents' motives.
So this is all that you can come back with, eh? Why can't you address the bulk of what I had to say, prior to the point that you prefer to reference? Rather than give a valid response to my main point you resort to name-calling, etc. So there you have it. LDH1 attacks the person rather than the logic. CLASSIC APOSTATE training!
You're full of the stuff that exudes from a bull's butt, LDH1.

"The New Oxford Annotated Bible comments in its preface: The use of any proper name for the one and only God, as though there were other gods from whom the true God had to be distinguished.....
That's beside the point! The fact is that God DOES have a name, and it isn't "LORD". To use the word "LORD" in place of the thousands of times where the Tetragrammaton appears in the Scriptures is outright dishonesty because to do so CHANGES the original text. The LEAST any translator should do here is leave the word un-translated, with an explanation somewhere as to the reason why.
"(1) THE WORD 'JEHOVAH' DOES NOT ACCURATELY REPRESENT ANY FORM OF THE NAME EVER USED IN HEBREW." [emphasis mine]
The TRUTH is that the word "LORD" does not accurately represent any form of the name ever used in Hebrew. The TRUTH is that the word "LORD" hides the fact that God does indeed have a name. The TRUTH is that the word "Jehovah" preserves the original text because it retains the four letters that are positively known to be there thousands of times over. The TRUTH is that the WTBTS does not claim that the word "Jehovah" is a perfect representation of the divine name.
How do you feel about such misleading quotations?
I feel that you're consumed with a faultfinding spirit. And it causes you to lack true appreciation for the fact that God DOES have a name. The WTBTS has kept true to the Bible, in that it has always made it known to peoples everywhere that God does indeed have a name. You though prefer to attack the Organization that has worked very, very hard at enlightening people regarding this issue. In my opinion you serve the god of this worldly system, not the God that created the earth and the heavens. Your god's time is limited, Caspian, as is the time of those who foolishly choose to copy his traits.

this was the subject of a recent debate with myself and some jw family members.
i dont have all the info.
in front of me, but i will give you just two points that i used to lean toward the idea that they were in fact, forgiven.
Sangdigger,
In particular, I agree with your Number two point. Ive given some thought about this question you pose before, and, like you, I think the evidence strongly suggests that there IS still hope for Adam and Eve insofar as a resurrection is concerned. However, I tend to think that they will likely be the very last two people resurrected under Christs reign. The very fact that Abel, their son, turned out in the favorable way he did suggests that his parents were not incorrigible; that is, unlike Satan and his demon followers, they were not beyond feeling sorry for having been so stupid/reckless and made an attempt at teaching their children about God. Yes Adam and Eve definitely must have taught Abel and Cain about God, and no doubt explained to them the reason why they were being raised outside the Garden of Eden with death hanging over their heads.
Unless of course God communicated directly to him [Abel] on this matter.
I tend to think that this was not the case, since, after the expulsion from Eden, the privilege of direct communication with God was lost -- and wont be regained until the reign of Christ is finished. Not before man has been brought back into the proper condition will God allow direct contact between man and himself. God only associates with those who are holy. So, therefore, I think that the things Abel and Cain knew about regarding the worship of God was taught them by their parents alone.

Says Larc:
Another thought on prayer: one of the common statements at a home prayer, is, thank you God for the food we eat. I think we should thank the farmers that grew it. I don't believe God has anything to do with farming any more. Why thank those who "grew it"? The farmers do recieve compensation for their crop when they sell it, do they not? Certainly you don't receive their produce for free, do you Larc? Also, isn't it the norm for the seller to thank the buyer for their business? You seem to have it all backwards, Larc!

to demonstrate to leavers that it is perfectly possible for an ex-witness, df'd, da'd, whatever, to live a full and happy life away from the wtbts.. to enjoy the company of friends.

"He means a Petrol pump outfit. Gas pump in the US." -- Englebum.
Whoops! Yadirf slipped up again. Never could get that quite straight it seems. Perhaps I should just stick to referencing it as a "Gas" pump. The fact is though, Englebum, you do dispense with a lot of Gas ... over 4000 posts of PURE gas!
"does this provide definite proof that I am not qualified to talking about morality?" -- Englebum.
Well ... I wouldn't say that you're not qualified to TALK about morality.

Michael the Englishman said: "To have a sense of morality that comes from within...."
Well now, Englebum, does all this mean that you've thrown away your Petro-pump costume that you used to don when you had a party to attend? Just curious, that's all!

in bbc panorama feedback the idiotic jw claim to be "personally offended" by the proven facts and court verdicts... and continue to attack the victims and whistle-blowers!
this sensitivity when they have the bare-faced audacity to tell all non-jws, irrespective of whether or not the same have clearly told them to stay away:.
1. all your cherished beliefs are totally wrong, actually.. 2. your god is really satan.. 3. you must let us in to your house.. 4. you must very soon join us, surrender all your independence, suspend your conscience (to be replaced by a "bible-trained" one which equates to "obey the elders without question!
Well, thought-out post, Focus.
Yeah, I really appreciated the tremendous amount of "thought" which Focus invested into his statement here:
EYES ROTTING IN YOUR EYEBALLS,
Eyes within eyes? Must be true, since Focus says so! LOL!
I'm always entertained by you, Fookus.
