Today's WT study - WTS playing into Satan's hand?
by leaving_quietly inthe picture on page 26 of the 8/15/13 wt shows three scenarios with the caption "what scriptural principles should come to your mind under these circumstances.
" the scriptures are, of course, what's discussed throughout the article.
"the desire of the flesh", "the desire of the eyes" and "the showy display of one's means of life".

Do You Think Many Engaged JW Couples Fooled Around B4 Marriage?

Pure as the driven snow.
Did not kiss until our engagement day. Never did anything more than that until we were married. Not even French kissing. I was a pioneer/MS at the time and a really dedicated zealot.
Was a 26 year old virgin. My wife 21.

I use to worship Fred Franz as a child, I was always told that he had a photgraphic memory, was fluent in over 10 languages, gave all of his talks without notes, was legally blind, and had the entire Bible memorized from cover to cover.
Now that I've learned TTATT, I consideer him just another celibate by choice religious nut job without a brain in his head. I can remember Witnesses speaking favorably of "The Plain Truth" magazine when I was a boy. His borrowing from other idiots would not be a surprise and probably happened.

Any Special Pioneers, Missionaries, COs, and DOs around?
by ohnightdivine inplease share your experiences and thoughts with us here.
.
what made you change your heart about serving the org?.

Why are there numbers so few? Almost zero? The level of religiosity and kool-aid drinking it takes to become a CO, especially a DO is so high. It's like living inside a bubble, within a bubble, and the bubble is made of steel.

I'm a former IV / pioneer / elder of 20 years. Never had the desire to be a CO/DO or SP/Missionary. Oh, and I served at Bethel for 6 years.
My name tells my story.

This was the only prophecy "given by Jesus" that wasn't too vague to matter, like the rest of his prophecies (see "wars and reports of wars"). But unfortunately, it was an epic failure. He didn't return within that generation as he promised.
As you see with EOMs post, prophecies mean whatever the hell you want them to mean. And salvaging this failed prophecy has proven quite the problem for Christians.
The Bible says what is says, and it doesn't say what it doesn't say. Too bad... most, if not all, of its adherents, don't believe this inconvenient truth.

Mark Sanderson - Why Is the Newest GB Member Suddenly So Prominent?
by Oubliette ini've noticed something that is very odd even by wt/gb standards.
why is mark sanderson suddenly so prominent in all things wt/jw?.
others have commented on the obvious narcissism of the gb pushing themselves to the fore recently, in particular after their huge doctrinal change at proclaiming themselves and only themselves as the faithful and discreet slave.. this is clearly true as evidenced at the agm, not only throughout the agm, but also in the video that was featured as part of that meeting.

Sanderson, just another white religious celibate old fart. Probably a repressed homosexual. Since there is only eight of them, it would make sense that he would get screen time.
BTW, I see Splane, Losch, and Morris battling it out on Wednesday mornings on who's got the best ideas. They've definitely have the biggest egos. Morris is the cockiest of them all.

If your spouse agrees with reality, it is a wonderful thing no doubt. Doing this on your own ain't no picnic.

An Elder Reads CoC !!
by TTATTelder ini have recently joined the site.
i was just appointed an elder this summer.
i started discovering the ttatt (the truth about the truth) last year after putting a few things together myself concerning the leadership and then doing some research online.. i really enjoyed jwfacts.com, jwsurvey, and others.

I resigned as an elder in April 2012. I'm still fading. Because i was in Bethel from 88-94, I was very skeptical when reading CoC. But everything he wrote about is so detailed and straight up.
This past summer's convention talk on "human apostates" really burned me up when they repeatedly said: "Apostates have CHOSEN to DECEIVE others." As if what we believe is a choice, and that everything that apostates say is either half-truths or complete lies.
But, that is why it is easy to have your faith destroyed by apostates, because 99.9% of everything that they say is verifiable truth, and you are expecting see nothing but falsehoods in apostate books, postings, or blogs.

I'm sure this sounds arrogant, but as a former pioneer/elder of 15 years, I still have no use for people that are "inactive Witnesses". People that "believe in Jehovah", but not much else. People that do not have the brains to think there way out of bullshit superstition.
Stay away from the bOrg, and you not get burned helping idiots that excused their own laziness by playing the Armageddon card.
