Adult College Students - Take a Bow!
by zenpunk ini notice that there are many of us here who were discouraged from going to college/university in our younger years, courtesy of the watchtower society.
i would just like to say "congrats" to those who, in spite of the indoctrination and the fact that they've had to attend college later while holding down jobs and paying their own way, have attended college and received degrees!.
when i left high school i went right into pioneering as college was not an option in the witness world.

Hey dantheman,
I'm 40 and just started at college for the first time in my life this past spring semester. I love it! I also skipped college because I grew up in the borg. I also always loved math like you do and intend to make it my major. I'd like to teach it someday too. I 'm working fulltime and going in the evening and it can be rough, but it is worth it. Going for the BA at first.

Circuit Overseer Carl "Slicin" Dyson made this comment to many Jamaica Queens congregations as well as at the circuit assemblies during the year 1985 : "You've got brothers and sisters around here talking about retirement in ten more years. Isn't that foolish? "
This comment was made when he would talk about how "Close" the end of this system was and that it wouldn't even last for that much longer.
I wonder how foolish he feels now? Its been more than "ten more years" . In fact its "seventeen more years" since he made those comments and there has been no end. What a f***in joke.

Do you feel like an idiot?Should you?
by sleepy ini was thinking today about all the time i spent on the ministry.. walking down the street with my suit and briefcase ready to defend the truth.. i recalled some of the conversations i had , had.some of the bible studies i conducted, the talks i had given the groups i had taken.. i remmebered the way i defended my faith and belief in jehovah and the jehovahs witness organisation.. how much i must have believed it was the truth.. i spent 3 years as an auxillary pioneer and called on many thousands of people.. yet all along i was wrong.. every time i defened my beliefs i was wrong.. every talk i studied and prepeared long and hard for, i was wrong.. all the things i gave up for the truth i was wrong.. what an idiot.

I understand how you feel. I think about those same things sometimes. I was an elder for 7 years and served as the public talk coordinator as wellas many other jobs in the congregation. Many times when the speaker did not show up, I gave the talk. I gave talks and substitute talks in every borough here in New York as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties. I reflect also on all the time, hours upon hours, that I spent preparing a talk whether it was a public talk or on the tms or the service(choke choke )er, uh, sales meeting, and I realize that all I was doing was promoting the stupid rules and false teachings of the most wicked organization on the planet. I feel really dumb sometimes.
But it also helps me to see that the same mind control must be prevented from continuing. The tower has got to come down. The world will be a better place without it.Worf

Yes there is a letter being read at the meetings. My brother in law told us that the letter claims that abuse victims are not discouraged from going to the authorities, that no one is punished for going to the authorities etc. etc. etc.
He was at the meeting last night and heard the letter.Obvious damage control because of dateline, but the entire letter is a lie as we all know.

Demonstration @ WTS ?
by Cappuccino OC inhow about if we all plan a "peaceful" rally in front of the wts?.
we could have on posters the names (maybe pictures) of the jw' & df-jw's who are pedophiles.
the ones that have been df.. in addition the names of all of their victims, that we personally know.. how about having the victims present with pictures of the age when they were molested.. changes need to be done if at least a thousand of us show up!
