now that you're no longer a jw, do you wish people "good luck" or say "bless you" when they sneeze?
wish people a "happy easter" voluntarily and not just mumble "same to you" when they wish it to you?
i do, and every time i do i get a little thrill and smile to myself because it's just one more thing i now have the freedom to do, and it's a little thing but i think it shows care and respect for my fellow humans.
Stefanie, great idea. Easter can and should be a lot of fun. It was for me as a kid. I still have a fondness for chocolate Easter bunnies and jellybean "Easter eggs", though I draw the line at "Peeps"
I cant have those either. Oh well, guess i will just stick to chocolate. My mom used to make confetti eggs for us, and my hubbys tradition is boiling them. We do both now.

my daughter has been dating a non-baptized jw boy, 18, we will call him "casey"; she is 17, and he seems to be ok that i am an apostate.
he comes over to the house, spends hours talking to the entire family, including apostate me, and he is truly remarkable in that he cares not what others might say about his association with my daughter and me.
good kid.
I am a dont get mad get even type of person most of the times. Since I had small ones at book studies and have had the looks and stares I can understand how that dad felt. I wish i could go back and leave a poopy diaper under the bed or in the closet or in the fridge somewhere.

This will be our third Easter. My hubby thinks that my 12 year old daughter(from previous marriage) might be too old for an easter basket. Because he has a daughter the same age. I say no, this is all still new to her, she thinks its all fun and cute. I will get her a basket untill she is 18 if it brings a smile to her soul.

Thats cute. I agree having them was a good way to get out of doing service. If one had the sniffles I would say I didnt want to get the rest of the group sick, so we would stay in and eat cereal and watch cartoons together.
i have a livejournal, and i have recently started a community called jw_discussion as a way for me to heal.
i wanted it to be a place where current jw's could go and ask questions and those who were ex or just curious to do the same.
it was neither a pro- nor anti- community.
jwbot I can definately relate to you. When I was posting at another board I always got picked on for no reason at all. People said some really mean things to me. I decided it was best for me not to bother with that sucky ass site, and havent been back for a couple of years, not even to lurk.
