how do you feel about telling people you were a jw, does it make you feel like admiting you were a flasher or some strange perv?.
i told a lady the other day who asked about what i was doing for christmas, that i used to be a jw, but i had to make sure she knew i was brought up as one by my parents , just so she didn't think it was my choice.. she thought i was very brave for leaving though.
Frankly, sometimes I was ashamed to admit I was a jw during the 30 years I was one.
I still feel a little embarrassed to say that I was a jw. The name of the religion sounds so strange to me and people might think I'm so weak to have been swept up in it for so long (out of choice). It's been five years and all I've had is good feedback whenever I've told anyone, so it gets easier for me to talk about it.

well, this will be the best birthday i have ever had.
i had lunch with my mom and she has never had sushi before and she loved it.
it was sooooooo funny watching her try to use chopsticks....... to no avail--lol.

the other day i was on the computer and i moved some files on jws into documents as i was in a hurry,didn't think anymore of it.. my grandsons came over who are jws and joined my son on the computer,my son went into documents and my grandsons saw the files and asked him why i had them, of course my son didn't know quite what to say and he didn't tell me until after they had gone home.
i am worried that they may tell their mum and dad what they saw.
if my son asks me why i have these files what should i say because i need to be careful.my family is everything to me especially my grandchildren.. qca1
I find this very sad and almost frightening. It brings back the scared feelings I had when I started falling away. Even after I finally walked away, I feared them, dreaded their suits coming to my door, dreaded seeing them on the streets.
I would just lovingly tell whoever confronts you (if it does comes up) that you love learning about truth and you do a lot of reading. Not knowing what your files were or your grandchildren or if your family is the kind that would overlook this horrendous sin, I can't really tell you what to say, but I would keep it very light and try not to act too guilty. Or, you could just lie and say, "Gee, I don't know who saved those awful files! So many people have used my computer lately...maybe it was the demons!"

This is what I don't get: The Law was supposed to show that no one could live up to God's way of doing things...thus, all the animal sacrifices. Yet this young man said he had kept all the commandments. Was he lying to Jesus? How come Jesus believed him?
It also pisses me off that we are predestined by God whether we will live in heaven or go to hell. He allows all to be rained on or have sun shine on them, true, and life is a gift, but does anyone else see the unfairness of this? Has God created some people just as stepping stones to the ones he 'chooses'?
I just don't get the Bible. I really, really would like to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. I believed in him all my life, even pre-jw. But, I am told to believe in a book and a god that confuse the hell out of me. I guess I'm not predestined to live forever. The fact is that it is a serious disappointment for me.

Minimus, I am sending home-made crocheted dish cloths to all who request them. It is my way of saying that I appreciate everyone of you. It takes me about two hours to make one.
If you e-mail me with a mailing address and a color choice, I will send you one within the next few weeks. I don't expect anything in return. Just doing it makes me feel good.
Although I am telling you here now, Minimus (who is one of my very favorite posters), this invitation is for anyone who would like a dish cloth. hehe
I really do care about all of you, even if no one noticed that I am now of the Jedi class.

I measure my self-worth by what Czar said, how I treat other people. I also measure it by how many people contact me to request a dish cloth. Minimus, I am waiting...

here it is, late in the day, christmas is almost over this year.
i hope everyone enjoyed theirs as much as i have enjoyed mine.
i went to my oldest daughters to spend the day with them.
Thanks DR and Animal for sharing a bit of your Christmases with us. Beautiful families and beautiful trees. I had a great Christmas with my sister and her inlaws. People are good!

i got a call from ona and bikerchick last nite.
i was to meet them thursday near williams, arizona, for lunch.
they called because plans had to change and they couldnt make it.
