Ha Watkins. I like your story. Most don't think as open mindedly as that older sister. Someone still a witness who really thinks about it would be hard pressed to make a reasonable excuse for their existence and paradise.

Elder left a calling card - what's with that?
by Julia Orwell inhe called me a week or two ago offering 'assistance' and told me he'd pop by some time with 'a packet of biscuits' and i told him to ring before he came so as not to show up unannounced.
we went out yesterday, and this morning i find a little business card-sized calling card obviously printed up on ms word and cut with scissors.
on it is printed, "sorry i missed you," and has his name and number, and the scripture from romans saying something about an interchange of encouragement.. pretty inoccuous right?

Mere trillion years. Ha. I like the point you make. I don't want to die, but who does. I do not fear death. I did before because I didn't want to wake up and not be married to my wife. Or never get married again, or never have kids as JW teach. I now just think of death as the same thing that has happened to every other person who has ever lived. It's part of the whole picture. It's what makes us live now and enjoy life.

That's the hard thing to realize as u leave the fake nicey nice and enter the real world. It's ok to differ in opinion and to state it. It's ok to argue, it's not personal it's just a difference of opinion. The valuable thing about this site is you can express yourself and say what you want.

Most JWs have a visual in their head of what apostasy looks like. It's a mentally diseased person who has been led astray by obviously false teachings and is now corrupted and perverse. This crazy apostate believes insane and twisted things. Things like Jehovah is actually Satan... If you take a YouTube video and believe it you fit in perfectly with this preconceived apostate picture. There are lots of things on the Internet and tv presented in a way to sound convincing. But, there is a reason that no scholars know them or teach them.
It does all "apostates" a disservice if you tell lots of people this stuff you are learning. Keep it in, learn lots more before you ever try to convince someone that Jehovah is Satan.

I would think that the name Jehovah actually meaning Satan would be big enough news that everyone here would have heard of it and other religions would beat JWs about the head with it. Are you basing this on just what Strongs old book said or is there other in depth evidence? I didn't give up on one old book just to listen to a new old book. I require multiple lines of evidence.
Dnnt get mad and think I'm ripping you as I am not. But posters here like leo have done exhaustive research and shared it all. As far as I know, others haven't mentioned that Jehovah is Satan. Remember that Strongs concordance is just one opinion of the bible. It isn't the end all of the discussion.

I'm not DF or DA, but I still get shunned...
by darthfader ini met a couple i used to know many years ago (probably 20) in a local "big box" store.
i knew they looked familiar and since they were dressed up and it was saturday "mid day" i put two and two and two and came up with 666... they were jw's.
i didn't say anything to them just minded my business picking up supplies when the woman came over to me and started asking me if she new me from work or some company.

That's so stupid. Like merely being near you would cause leprosy. Even if you were DFd that is dumb behavior. I can say I never treated DFd people like that at any point in my life. In a store I said hi or nodded. I didn't carry on a big conversation but I didn't act like those nuts either.
