so i decided to attend the meeting last.

since i haven't gone in about 2 weeks, and i leave as soon as it ends, and elder decided to corner me at the end.

lately i've been through some very depressing family issues that are non-jw related so i haven't been my best at acting like i care about the org.

why couldnt i just stay away from this dam forum and live my life and blindly dedicated it to the borg.

i'm meeting with a friend in about an hour and she said she will let me show her things about wt.

i can't say the whole story right now because of time...but i have a copy of a wt saying how "jehovah will not let false prophecy's come true..." from the may 1st 97 wt.. i don't have a wt library so i can't look up the info.

i know there are wt articles saying the end was coming in 1975 and also certain times from like the 20's.

Freaky weird. I have friends still in who torment themselves daily since they can't control their thoughts and feel extreme guilt over their thoughts.

If ever anyone doubted this was a cult, watch as people are encouraged to let the old them go and be made over in the new personality.

Once you accept that Neanderthals and other primitive forefathers existed then it means the bible is out the window. Could god exist? I guess. But, I don't know where that leaves me or why it matters. Everyone just needs to be a good person and leave the world a better place than they found it.

I agree with you and hate this way that people describe blessings. A pioneer gets a bag of groceries on their doorstep when they have no food. But, down the street someone is being abused by a pedophile. Or you get blessed with new clothing, but another person has a miscarriage. It's very cruel and wrong to think that way in my opinion.

The "Flood" in Noah's day--why wasn't that Armageddon enough?

the great day of god the almighty certainly is a fit description for the destruction of men, women, children, grandmothers, infants and puppy dogs in the days of noah.. why didn't destroying everybody on earth except a remnant of 8 count as armageddon?.

i mean, if you are starting all over by genocide--shouldn't it count for more than bad temper?.

Great question. Doesn't make sense. Because if the apologist argument is that they needed more time to fail to prove they can't rule then the flood was just an angry tirade. WT says man chose satan over god so he couldn't shield them from the angels coming down here and breeding Nephilim. Well, then why did he have to wipe it all out with a flood? He could have stopped the horny angels and didn't. So he shouldn't have made the flood. If the flood was just then it could have been Armageddon.

I just thought I'd point out another aspect that agrees with Coftys take.

Any JW would eat fish or lobster with out a second thought. Both UNBLED. They DO have blood in them, just because it doesn't gush out red doesn't mean it isn't there. No one in their right mind would say you can't eat lobster or fish. Why? Without even admitting they understand on a basic level it is SYMBOLIC. Blood is to be poured out to show respect for the sanctity of life. No one dies to give you the free gift of a blood transfusion. It is technically better to have a blood transfusion than it is to eat lobster.
