The letter Moyle sent to Rutherford was private.
Why did Rutherford overreact the way he did?
Rutherford literally flipped out over the matter!
What sort of personality did Judge Rutherford have?
there has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.
in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.
he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

ironically, in today's wt, jws are encouraged to study the early history of the "earthly organization".
like them [the sons of korah], do you have a desire to study and recount the history of the earthly part of jehovahs organization?
the more you learn about gods organization and how jehovah supports his people, the more real gods kingdom will be to you.
Regarding JW history, it is very interesting to note that the Olin Moyle case is not mentioned in the Proclaimers book at all!
for those who are interested.... .

Wasn't the Watchtower "Governing Body" originally the board of directors of The Watchtoewr Corporation(s)? That is, the concept of the GB came not from the Bible, but from Unitied States corporation law.
must read on jehovahs witnesses watchtower arrogance in failure to warn of congregation pedophiles.. http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/we-will-decide-who-is-a-predator-new-watchtower-instructions-to-elders-on-child-abuse?fb_action_ids=10151270345663993&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582.

Watchtower writes:
"But God did not require congregation elders to enforce Caesar’s laws and codes."
But then The Watchtower feels the need to once a year remind young brothers turning 18 to register with the Selective Service!
So The Watchtower IS interested in the enforcement of some of Caesar's laws.
It just picks which ones it wants to "enforce."

Judge Rutherford had a cult following!
Some people just simply adored him!

I think we are all going to discover why Charles Russell dismissed Rutherford from Bethel in 1915.

Christ Alone, I would have liked to have seen that also.
A new sport was invented. The Judge Rutherford chair throwing event!
Where did that quote come from? Did I miss something? (was it on page 2 of this thread?)
anyone want to share some things that the watchtower has gotten busted for that even they can't weasle their way out of?
i was thinking about copyrighted images, illegal activity, etc... .
here are a few images they used that they "stole" from others, but claimed as their own.
Did anything ever come from the reporting of the Watchtower illegal toxic waste dumping?
Did New York State take any action?

"Judge" Rutherford shows himself to be really thin-skinned here.
It also looks like he mentally equated himself with the "Theocratic Organization of Jehovah God by Christ Jesus."
No wonder no biography of him was ever published.
Those who supported Rutherford covered up his actions and so wouldn't write about him, and those who couldn't stand him didn't want to write about him at all!
An accurate "Judge" Rutherford biography would be an embarrassment to the Organization!

The picture of the girl appearing in the "Live Forever" book is that of the German actress Pascale Petit.
The Watchtower made unauthorized use of her likeness, I am surprised legal action was not taken against them for doing that!
