Did any bethelites here see first hand books of magic and witchcraft in their library?

another thread made me remember hearing rumors of books of witchcraft and such found in if not the main library a restricted library at bethel, for research purposes.

i wonder if anyone here had seen those first hand and if so, what exactly were the names of the books?

I saw a few when I was in 30 cleaning. One of my assignments was actually cleaning the library that was in the Writing Department. There was some strange shit. THe guy who trained me showed me some books like Qurans and OLD Bbiles and weird books on mythology I was floored. Then there was some weird book about occult something or other I do not remember the name. It was a long time ago

so here i am after about 18 months of wake up.

the first 6 months were a rollercoster of feelings as my whole belief system unravelled.

the last year has been more stable but things seem like they are just stalling now.. my wife is aware of many of my feelings although i have held back the fact that i am pretty close to denying all belief in any kind of god.

At some point you are going to have to be true to yourself... when that happens and how it happens is up to you. You can reveal it in a controlled manner or wait too long and deal with a situation that you may not be prepared for. Once you are 100 percent sure you want nothing to do with watchtower start making changes and moves to exit. You have one lide... everyday you waste being phony and not being true to yourself becomes more painful

i am sad to report that while being treated for various ailments in an atlanta hospital for eight days, cynthia franz died of massive heart failure on december 29, 2013. .

cynthia franz comes from a very large, loving, close-knit family.

they have decided to keep cynthia's funeral arrangements private.

60 years ago, in the western world, it was rare to see in media, any representation of a face that wasn't euro-white.

these days, in response to market driven advertising, that is changing.. i can only speak for oz, and here i note that it is now quite common to see an asian face, most likely east asian (chinese, korean, vietnamese and japanese) in adverts.

Jesus' Teachings - Helpful or Harmful?

spinning off from another thread, have jesus' teachings been less than universally helpful to mankind?

how do we measure if a particular philosophy is helpful or harmful?.

i am going to use the "universal morals" listed here.

Kate you are assuming there is a spirit to offend... if there is a spirit how offended could it be if during your hour of need it whispered to you but did t act in a fashion to protect.

Let's add some meat to this...

If the spirit can be offended then obviously it has humanist qualities.

So ass the mighty spirit and god looked down on you being abused it decided to whisper to you ,"go to the police" instead of changing the mind of the abuser or helping you out the situation. If you saw your child being beat would you whisper to her to go to the police or would you help.

Since we are supposedly children of God that is exactly what happened

Christians please answer something for me

or should i say some things.... reading over another thread and a number of other threads i have to ask, why are we making excuses for jesus / god.. how can you fathom and all powerful god who created the universe and all the laws that govern it was not capable of:.

1. making sure the proper pronunciation of his name is not available.

2. that all his teaching are not preserved in an easy to discern manner so that ther is no confusion.

Because if he is GOD and can control everything he should have used his powers to ensure that humans are not allowed to manipulate his words for that purpose. If he would literally just speak from the sky now and then we would not have these issues. Instead he is silent and allows these games to continue.

TEC your answers I have noticed are just rubbish. You always resort to using statements that the many Christians here will gobble up. They seem so peaceful and packed with spirit when in actuality its just a heap of rubbish.

The above statement is just a pile of sheer rubbish. None of it proven. You are using quotations from a flawed book to explain other statements or principles from a flawed book. Talking to you is like getting on a merry go round being pushed by a bully. He never stops it so you can get off, he just pushes faster and faster until you vomit and pass out.

Reading over another thread and a number of other threads I have to ask, why are we making excuses for Jesus / God.

How can you fathom and all powerful GOD who created the universe and all the laws that govern it was not capable of:

1. Making sure the proper pronunciation of his name is not available

2. That all his teaching are not preserved in an easy to discern manner so that ther is no confusion

3. Made hs presence evident to a small group of people in the middle east and pretty much gave a giant fuck you to the rest of civilization of thousands of years

4. Allows people to suffer and will not help

For once, no buzzwords, no "in the spirit" answers, no divine mystery answers etc...

I am not trying to be mean here I just really want your LOGICAL answers to these questions so I can understand what is going on in your minds. Even as a JW I just pushed things to the back of my mind. Some things I was ashamed to actually address so I just never did. However after coming to accept the fact that I was living a lie I am not capable of continue to make excuses for a supposed GOD.
