Apparently there's no "crash site" - the object disintegrated in the atmosphere, and what hit the ground are just debris. Last figure points to 700 + light injured people, mostly from windows blasting.

...and that applies to religion as well as politics.. if someone simply believes such and such is true, it doesn't really matter whether you "prove" it or not.
people will believe what they want to believe..
I remember when going out in the field service and conducting Bible studies, we would explain to people how the bible disproved things like a burning hell, the worshipping of images, that Mary didn't stay a virgin forever, etc ...and people would nod and then would say, "Yes, but I won't change my devotion to my virgin Mary". And we would think: "How blind and dumb these people are, with the evidence right in front of their very eyes, and they won't make a change".
Yes, right ... and now I look at us, Jehovah's Witnesses, when confronted with evidence that something's seriously wrong with our leadership and some of our doctrines ... same. Must be some kind of mental defense mechanism.

the year once 1983 and the brother who use to study the bible with me drove by and had a full on "charles manson" looking facial hair and beard.
i asked tina, a friend what's up with him?
tina was 19 and a hot red-head woman who was partially in the religion but had problems with fornication.
I read somewhere that growing a beard would have connotations with communism, the hippie movement and other "rebellious" gropus.
It's no small wonder that many who leave display a beard as a "freedom badge".

i have just finished an article misquotes, deception and lies and would like your comments, proof reading, and any other examples that you think are important to add.
most of these already appear on jwfacts.com within specific articles, but it is more powerful seeing them included together.
there have also been a number of requests over the years for such a collection.
Great article, JWfacts.
Thank you.

wouldn't it be cool if the pope did an expose thing about the catholic church and all the heirarchies/inside secrets, etc., like ray franz did when he exposed the inner workings at the highest level of the jw religion?
!.
On Idolatry:
"Unfortunately some among our brothers and sisters went a little too far in their assessment of the holiness of some of their anointed brethren, and read too much into the Holy Church's enthusiasm about their depictions, and started to take some innapropriate actions towards such depictions. Obviously the Scriptures do not tolerate idolatry, not has the Holy Church ever endorsed it".

i just posted a new article entitled "jw apologists keep commenting".
there seems to be an influx of asleep jws that are trying to fight back against what they perceive to be threats to their faith by trying to refute our websites and forums.. several are currently making the rounds voting down webpage comments and youtube videos, as well as the dissident jw blogosphere.. here's a screengrab from the article:.
here's the youtube video i made to accompany it:.
I'm the promotor of that site, Ray.

Cantleave,
Contrary to your argumentation, you CAN choose to drop british citizenship and migrate to another country and stop paying taxes to support the Royal Family. You see, you HAVE A CHOICE, even if you were born in the UK. Why won't you change? Could it be because it would be far too disruptive to your current life? Well? Could it mean selling your house and losing your job? Could it mean that you wouldn't see Oxford, the Cotswalds, London and Chelsea playing at Stanford Bridge ever again? Could it be that you wouldn't go anymore to the local pub with yer mates to drink a pint? Could mean leaving your old mom and dad behind to never see her again? You see, YOU HAVE A CHOICE and you CAN CHANGE. The reason why you won't do it is because the price you have to pay to live up to your beliefs is such, that you decide you can live with that MINOR DISCOMFORT of being under an "obviously delusional" political regime that rules your life, whether you like it or not, admit it or not, accept it or not. In your case you even seem PROUD to support an "obviously delusional" political system. Go figure! And you don't really give a damn if the americans on the other side of the pond think you're silly or odd.
You see, people like me, perhaps you too, were born in the JW's, just as you were born a british citizen, and we used to be proud of it, because we thought we alone had "the truth". Now that I know that ain't so, why don't I leave? Precisely for the same reason why you won't quit being a british citizen despite you openly or patially disagree with your national political system or just find it anachronical. The price to pay is so damn high that you can live with the MINOR DISCOMFORT and just DEAL WITH IT the best way you can.
“What is objectionable, what is dangerous about extremists is not that they are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause, but what they say about their opponents.” - John F. Kennedy
Have you noticed about yourself that by leaving the Witnesses you haven't become one bit less intolerant?

at the special assembly day (s.a.d.
) last weekend, the district overseer had us all read matthew 5:22, which in part says, "whoever addresses his brother with an unspeakable word of contempt will be accountable to the supreme court; whereas whoever says, you despicable fool!
will be liable to the fiery gehen na.".
The Searcher
Maybe I'm just confused by your grammar, but what point was the DO trying to make?
Was he equating "calling someone a despicable fool" to calling someone an apostate?
Was he saying that no one, except Jehovah, can declare someone an apostate?
What consequences did he draw for the congregation Judicial Comitees?

When you guys here shred anyone who is still a JW and isn't prepared to leave (or somehow finds reasons to stay in), you're creating an attitude of "us vs. them" that is no different of the attitude within the WTS. And so, by ridiculing those who stay in, you're doing yourselves and your mission a disservice, really.

the obvious answer to that is: yes!
jwn has a number of former elders who awakened to ttatt while they held their position, and a handful of current elders who help provide needed intel.. .
later, i learned he and his wife had faded, and both of his grown sons know ttatt as well.. .
TJ Curioso, are you in in a portuguese-speaking country?
