OP: "Even at conventions though, the dubs are told not to go outside for lunch, regardless of whether it is a nice day of not"
That is not true. It was said not to go to restaurants, but stay on the grounds and eat with the friends.
i was just reading thelisteners post from an earlier thread, and it got me thinking just how little time dubs have to associate togther.. it seems to be more and more the fact, that the only time dubs see each other to "associate" - if you can even call it that - is at meetings and conventions.. even at conventions though, the dubs are told not to go outside for lunch, regardless of whether it is a nice day of not.
(note, this may not be true at all conventions).
where is a jehovah's witness supposed to get this period of refreshment so he can do more?

does it have to do with having been a witness?
the fact that you missed out in something??
what?
There was a sister that I had a crush on for many years. She married, I married. I learned that she got divorced. I was disappointed that I didn't wait.
was it being able to join the theocratic ministry school?
being a regular pioneer?
"handling microphones"?
Pioneer school.
Lots of good food. counting time while sitting in the air conditioned KH. Making friends of whom are not pioneers or even Witnesses anymore.
maybe i am ignorant but why why why pray tell.
if i am not jewish and not of the 144k why is it necessary (compulsory even) for me to attend the memorial ?.
what is the scriptural precedent?.
There is no command.
Jesus never gave commands of anything. Just because Paul told people in Corith about it, does not make it something continuous.
This was to the disciples around him and with him at that time.
Really, no one has received benefits of this passover. God has not passed over our sins. And if the passover is the same as the angels destroying at armageddon, then it is something to be done after that time.
My conclusion is that it is for the 11 to have kept doing in remembrance of him. No one today ever knew Jesus so there is nothing to remember.
this is an observation i have made .
yesterday a group of jw`s entered the street where i live , i`m at the end of a street and they stood around and obviously joked and mucked around for about 10 minutes as a group opposite my house .their were 3 teenage girls ,1 teenage boy , and 3 older men .
this was about 10:30 am on a saturday.
Has there ever been any urgency? It is a case of branch managers telling sales managers to get their people out to sell and distribute.
.
is it the pedophile thing, ngo, generation change, blood issue?
what do you think it is?.
Money. They are only after money and people to supply it.
Basically, the religion is a franchise and they are looking for more franchisees. If congregations and circuits have to pay a certain amount per publisher, like a franchisee pays the franchise owner, then we are just a bunch of customers and out to seek more customers.
the 12/15/2013 study wt has the article, "this is to be a memorial for you.
" in it, paragraph 7 (on page 18) makes the statement, ".
27 also, he took a cup and, having given thanks, he gave it to them, saying: drink out of it, all of you; 28 for this means my blood of the covenant, which is to be poured out in behalf of many for forgiveness of sins.. (note that matthew's rendition leaves out the "keep doing this .
This is very elementary. It is to be one once a year because it is based on the precedent of the passover being done once a year.
You don't need any new testament quotes to know that.
The whole memorial is meaningless to people today, the same as the passover was meaning to generations 100s of years beyond Moses. It was for those ones in the room with Jesus that witnessed his life and death as the passover was for those who witnessed life in Egypt and the passover event.
**this was predicted from some members here**.
to all congregations .
re: adjustments in organizational terminology and assembly arrangements .
Question: Is this a letter mailed to congregations or do they make them downloadable as pdfs on jw.org?
It always gets me that to send letters to every congregation in the USA, it costs them $5500.
They need a better way to communicate.
It would seem that they are eliminating the Saturday program on the CA's. The Theocratic ministry School and the symposiums are to go as they are merely manuscript and meaningless. It means that people won't be greasing the hands of the CO and assembly coordinators to get assembly parts. The public talk and CO and DO parts will be the afternoon, the morning will be the Watchtower summary and maybe a Needs of the circuit, and something about the theme.
where do you guys find old tower books and material other than flea bay and their outragous prices?
looking for some of the old books..
I have extra copies and much literature I would like to rid of. PM me.
the recent boe letter announcing changes to the duration of circuit assemblies was warmly received by congregations the worldover.
it was as if the brothers and sisters were already in the new world for, upon hearing this news, there were no tears at all.
instead, it is a humble acknowledgement from the gb of the mind-numbing, yawn-inducing 2-day circuit assemblies.. .
As for replicating the Israel festivals. One problem with the religion is that it followed the premise of "no one ever got fired for buying IBM", by means of "No one ever got criticized for following the Bible". Something said and done 4000 years ago is not going to be relevant today. Today has its own problems and solutions. I am so tired of this.
