Valkyre asked: "If the District Overseer no long has a "district" to oversee, why hasn't his title been changed to "Regional Overseer"?"
District overseers never overseen district assemblys or conventions. That is just a misnomer.
The Watchtower convention office has always overseen them.
DOs oversee their districts. District conventions have nothing to do with those districts.
i have talked to quite a few brothers who have served as elders and servants and left the organization.
in most cases their wives have remained in despite the husbands best efforts to persuade his wife that the organization is wrong.
even though the wife can see problems within they continue to press on in service to the society.
The thing is that wives will hold headship of the FDS, The GB, the branch, the DO, the CO, the elders over the headship of the husband.
The Bible says that the married couple is one, but does not say that about the congregation. Jesus to the 144,000 are one as a bridegroom to the bride, but that is different than a person to the congregation.

this podcast is very interesting, especially the latter half.
in a nutshell, the scheme is this: after determining that a complete kingdom hall remodel will cost the congregation $100,000.00, the regional building committee arbitrarily inflates the estimate to $250,000.00, fleecing the congregation and misappropriating the additional funds for other purposes.
Is that the Jason Cobb that was disfellowshipped as mentioned here?
i could not believe my ears when my father told me recently that his circuit overseer (2 weeks ago) said that there are 5 scriptures that the society is going to revise.
has anyone else heard of this?
if any of them have to with jesus i am going to tell my parents to run not walk out the kingdom hall, yikes!
"I just realized that you can actually use the NWT translation to prove the DEITY of Jesus so I am guessing the scripture alterations are related"
No, you can't use any Bible to prove the deity of Jesus. The Bible can only be a reference. It is not proof. Even if the Bible directly, uncontroversially said that Jesus was Jehovah God, that is not proof. Proof is evidence that can be verified.

requesting where can we find answers to lifes big questions?
August. The hottest month for north America and the coldest for the South. Really smart. And during ASSembly time. But as it has been said. It is to get people out to get their biggest month for the numbers.
i ordered greg's book a few years ago and wonder if he will ever complete his book?
what is going on with greg, he's a great scholar and a decent bloke, i hope he is doing well heatlh wise and god is blessing him.
i knew this would be a giant task, i hope he did not bite more than he can chew..
I used to be like that; enjoying arguing the doctrines.
But I discovered something. Witnesses will say that Christendom lies in that they teach the trinity and hellfire, etc.
But that is not a lie, it is that they just interpret the Bible differently than JWs do.
I've never seen God so I don't know if he is a trinity. Same goes for Greg Stafford, Walter Martin, James White, etc.
I've never been to heaven or hell so I don't know what goes on there. Same for the above named people.
It's up to God to clarify matters, not our arguing.
i'm sure i read a thread here about the new congregation accounting procedures.
i ask because i handle the accounts in our cong and in our part of the world the new accounting system has just arrived whereby local congs do not have their own account any longer, but all funds outside of basic monthly costs is forwarded to an account controlled by the org.
this is causing huge confusion in our cong as we have to work out how much we need to keep back for monthly costs and the new idea is that you send all your extra cash to the org and if you need it back you can ask for it but we don't know how easy or hard it would be to do that.
It has been done that way since 2011.
Say, 12,000 congregations in the USA. $1000 cash in the bank each excess, on average.
That is 12 million dollars that the WTBS puts in an account and draws interest on it.
$1000 would not gather interest on its own but 12 million would at a higher rate.
And the WTS keeps the interest. Afterall, the FDS is granted all of his belongings.

All I see is a scenario. I don't see proof.
I don't see, person A did this at that time and conspired with person B who did this at that time.
I don't see names, dates and dollar amounts.
" all requests to the Service Department for a special committee". Show evidence that these requests have been made.

This is a bunch of nonsense.
"once the perpetrators of the scam acquire operational control of a congregation’s corporation, thus assuming effective ownership of the Kingdom Hall property, they direct the congregation to finance upgrades to the Kingdom Hall"
If the amount borrowed is too much, then the payments are too high and the congregation can't meet its payments. No one is under any obligation to contribute. So the congregation corporation is left holding the ball. Then the "scammers" scammed themselves.
" thus assuming effective ownership of the Kingdom Hall property," If they borrowed money on the property, it is under a lein, then they can't sell it or do anything without permission from the leinholder.
This Jason Cobb sounds like the fraud. "Having observed this firsthand as a participant in the RBC engagement". Sounds like he is in on it.
