This podcast is VERY interesting, especially the latter half. In a nutshell, the scheme is this: After determining that a complete Kingdom Hall remodel will cost the congregation $100,000.00, the Regional Building Committee arbitrarily inflates the estimate to $250,000.00, fleecing the congregation and misappropriating the additional funds for other purposes. Money-laundering, plain and simple. Jason Cobb knows of another congregation in California Circuit 13 where the remodel estimate was $350,000.00!

Jason evidently assumes these are just a few bad apples in the organization; however, Jesus said, "A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit. . . By their fruits you will recognize those men." (Matthew 7:18, 20)

I haven't heard the podcast, but after watching the Youtube series, some of this story seems very over the top, especially the part with the Watchtower running people off the road, being in control of the courts and the press.

Whatever the case may be, it's sad that he believes the ORGANIZATION has nothing to do with it. This incident ( if accurate ) was made possible because of the Organization. It's a breeding ground for scandal due to it's legalism.

Jehovah’s organization itself is not perpetrating this scam, rather a group of deviant, self-willed individuals therein are doing so. Such persons insidiously exploit the arrangements, procedures and infrastructure of the organization to execute their schemes - to their own benefit.

If you have the basis to communicate directly with any member of the Governing Body, PLEASE do so as their involvement will be needed to solve this problem

For all his efforts to be detailed about explaining how he uncovered this scheme, he doesn't explain how he knows that "Jehovah's organization" is not perpetrating the scam. It seems like he needs to hold onto some kind of hope that this can all be fixed if only the "good guys" at bethel find out what's going on.

Just finished listening to it. As others just said, since he leaves a lot of details out, it's hard to fully understand what happened.

What is really confusing is the fact that he believes that the organization itself knows nothing about this scam - but that makes no sense. He makes it seem as if the people who profit from this are part of the RBC, but if that is the case, then how is the body of elders replaced if they don't agree? The RBC does not have the power to do this, only the service dept in bethel can replace bodies of elders. Also, once the scam is finalized, payments are made to the organization itself, not the RBC so again, how do they profit from it?

Then we are to believe that in all of these instances where this has happened, no word has gotten to bethel about this? The CO never became aware of this?

Give me a break! The organization is well aware of this and allowing it to happen - no doubt about it. Yes it is a scam to make money off the congregation members, but perpetrators are the ones who are benefitting from it - the organization and it's leadership.

Also, this is happening in different regions of the country and the world, so logically it excludes the possibility of one crooked regional committee.

Clearly, Jason is still in denial. He wants to believe that this is an isolated case, but i'm willing to bet that deep down he knows it's much larger than that.

Just like Professor Gegan approaching the Elders in the " Distant Origin " episode of Star Trek.....

Back in Chicago, as they were building the Romeoville assembly hall, a $5mil. project, the brother in charge of plumbing got caught making 10% profit on all the material he was purchasing.

It did not take long for him to get caught and get DF.
