I don't even waste my time watching news on the TV. I might on occasion watch my local news, just to keep up with what is going on in my area. I usually get my news from the internet, and then before even believing it, I will double check to make sure that too is not something false as well. I forget which person it was that worked for CNN, she said all CNN is, is the mouthpiece to the government.

Were You Ever Interrogated By The Elders?

Once. My husband cheated on me with a white trailor trash hoochy mama. Long story short, I was pregnant with my second child, and they questioned me about stuff that I did not even witness. I told them, that if this hormonal pregnant woman had see that, there would be no need for a judial meeting, because I would have killed her, and made my husband wished he was some place else.....
Now for the real truth at what had happened. Yes, my husband did cheat on me, and yes I was called in for a judial meeting, I'm guessing as a witness. When they started asking me about what he did, I told them that I was not there to see what had happened, only what my husband told me. Then I broke down crying. They asked me if I was going to leave my husband over this, and I told them, I did not know, what I was going to do. After that, it was my husband's time to go see the elders, and they let me go home. My husband, being the son of an elder knew how to play the game, and he managed to only be put on private reproof.
If any one is wondering the outcome, my husband truly felt horrible about what he done. Not because he broke the rules, it was because he broke my heart, and my trust in him. The next seven years were really tough, but we did manage to survive that bump in the road, and he has never cheated on me again after that. We are getting ready to have our 20th wedding aniversary this September, and he did eventually regained my trust, but it did take a long time.

What will the JW religion be like in 2015?

It will be the same old thing. There is a saying, "There is nothing new under the sun." Well there is nothing new in that damed cult. They sucker in new people, and others will wise up and get out, being totally robbed of their loved ones who choose to belive the cult's lies.

I feel the same way as what 2+2=5 said. I grew up in that cult as a kid, being told the same thing. If I had only known that was a lie, then I would have taken better care of my health and body when I was younger. I am just so happy that I did not pass that lie on to my own children, and as a result they don't do some of the things that I did when I was their age.

I don't fear death, I have already faced it several times in the past and survived. My only hope is that when I do go, that first my children are already grown and on their own, and second, I don't get clobbered, that would involve a whole lot of pain. lol Me and pain don't get along very well.

Today's Watchtower
by piztjw inso i see that once again the jw's are being told that if you or a family member have been wronged it is all in your mind.
you only "think" your family member was wronged.. you must not stand up for family, you must not take their side in a dispute, and you really should just let yourself and your family be shat upon.. this is getting sicker by the minute.
any other observations or thoughts?.

Once I had a JW tell me that I was being selfish because I did not want to live forever. I told him that it was not living forever that bother me, it was living with and being told what to do by a bunch of JWs, and having to endure that forever. That to me would be like living in hell for all eternity.

Irony of Ironies: THE WATCHTOWER WILL END LONG BEFORE THE WORLD DOES!
by steve2 ini was recently acquainted with the exhaustive - and blatantly inaccurate and crazy - theorizing by a "dr thomas", the "founder" of the christadelphians.. he was an earlier "contemporary" of chuck russell - and some have accused russell of "stealing" the christadelphians main teachings.
they're probably correct in their accusation.
christadelphians do not believe in the trinity or hellfire, are conscientious objectors who do not vote and who hate catholicism and are scathing in their views of christendom - although like all "decent" religious groups, jws included, have toned down their rabid attacks on other religious groups in recent decades.. dr thomas's quaint - and hilariously self-important - interpretation of scripture, led him on several occasions to predict the end of the world in his own day.

If the Watchtower does ever end, I would LOVE to see it happen before my mother and sister pass away. They would go on and on about how when religion falls, that Jehovah's Orgization would still be here. I would LOVE for them to eat their word. When it does fall apart, I hope it is from the inside out, meaning that they were the cause of their own downfall, and not some outside force such as the government. I think I will stop here, before I really start ranting.

I wouldn't say anything, let them believe what they want. It would never do anything to say something about it to them. To me trying to explain it to a JW would be like taking a rubber ball and throwing it against a brick wall. It would bounce off of them, and they would look at you with this blank expression, and they just would not get it. I tried to explain it once to my mom, and it was like that. They won't want to hear it, until they are ready.

Did You Ever See Yourself Getting Out Of The JW Religion?
by minimus ineven though i realized there were different issues that i had, it took years for me to finally decide that i wanted out.
it took less than a year for me to slowly get out and i did that successfully along with my daughter and my then wife.
we all are still all happily out.. did you believe that you would be anything but a jehovah's witness?.

Until I was 32, I thought I was going to stay in it. Then in only one month I had a very rude awaking, and saw them for what they really were. I stoped attending the meetings, and a month later I sent them a letter telling them that I no longer wanted to be a member of their religion. I was raised in that cult as a small child, and believed every thing I was told, until that day. But before anyone jumps on my case and tells me that I gave up too easy, I must say something first. I did see things over the years, but did not pay much attention to them. I did remember, but it just did not dawn on me, it was only when it involved my 5 year old son was when I decided to really do some research on them. As soon as I figured it all out, I was very pissed off. I was so angry that I threw away all my Watchtower publications, everything.
Let me just say, I shocked everyone, including the elders. When they came to my door to confirm that I was the one who actually sent the letter, they asked me why. I did not feel like getting into a huge discussion with them, but I pointed out the scripture in Deuteronomy and false prophets. I then asked them about all the dates that were set in the past, and the changes. All they told me, was that I had a good point, and this was something that they were going to discuss at their next meeting. The only thing that I hope came out of that, was it gave them something to think about.

I learned a few years back to check with the Better Business Beru, before even thinking about dealing with anyone. This was after I lost some money. It was not very much, but it was enough to teach me a lesson.
