I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I was spanked when I was little, not understanding why I had to sit still. And even though I've had to readjust my attitude and be careful as to the reasons why I had to spank my own kids, I'm glad my parents spanked me. We've been over this topic here before, and I still believe that a two-year-old will only understand a stinging bottom. But sometimes witness parents justify this too much and take great pride while beating the living hell out of their kids while at the hall. It's as if they're trying to prove that they take the meetings more serious than others. (not that one should) There's too many extremes. Everything in moderation I say. Take them home, spank them a few times, give them a hug and a kiss, and put them to bed. Witness parents somehow find a way to make things more difficult in the long run.

Kingdom Hall Spankings
by JH inmost meetings i went to, children were brought to the washrooms in the back to be disciplined.
often i could hear a child yell or cry due to the spanking given by the parent.
people in the hall would have that look on their face meaning that it was alright to discipline a child by spanking him.

Have You Spoken To Anyone Here From This Forum ?
by RAYZORBLADE inobviously the answer for many of you is, an overwhelming yes.
the reason i am posting this is, for some or perhaps many, they only post or im(instant message/e-mail) other members, but have not spoken to them via the phone.
i'm aware that for some, calling long distance is a financial concern, thus the e-mail thing/im works fine and serves its purpose.

The French... Why do they hate us?
by email inwe've been talking about this lately on this board... this is yet another article from msn.com.. http://slate.msn.com/id/2077874/.
"much of the french opposition to american power arose after the fall of the soviet union made the united states the only power in a unipolar world: according to one poll, the percentage of the french who viewed the united states "with sympathy" dropped from 54 to 35 percent between 1988 and 1996. but french grumbling over u.s. power predates the end of the cold war, too.
as philip h. gordon outlined in the national interest in 2000 (during the clinton administration), "resentment and frustration" have marked french-american relations since the end of world war ii.

I know sometimes even though adultery is justifiable grounds for divorce, innocent mates are discouraged and looked down upon if they decide to end the relationship. (I know I felt that way)Is it possible the wife felt the same way? She may have had the urge to end it, but thought twice (and a third time in your case) about it. But now she can get real sympathy from others since you are committing 'spiritual' adultery.
Having been the innocent party, (and somewhat guilty later on also) I see both sides to the story. Sometimes the pain is too unbearable to continue the relationship. I'm pretty sure at some point down the road, if you do in fact stay together, you're going to regret her taking you back. Some mates keep a mental record of that and decide that when the oppurtunity arises, may 'get even.'
It's not the end of the world if you two decide to end it. Who knows, perhaps when the dust settles, and the pain has died down, perhaps you two could start over. Last I knew, there was no law against remarrying your ex. Shit, I've done it, and I know plenty of others who have.
Just keep telling yourself, it's going to get worse before it gets better. That thought, in a weird way, helped me get through things. I know, the thought of being single sucks, especially when you've always had someone to come home to. Trust me, it gets better.

These same types of executions were carried out by Americans during WWII, especially at the Battle of the Bulge where Germans dressed in US uniforms were making a mess in the American rear areas
Yeru, not to get off the subject, but you mentioned the Battle of the Bulge. My grandfather was in that. Unfortuneately, he is no longer with us. I would have loved to have heard stories about what happened during that battle. Do you have any other tidbits about it or know where I could find some like the one you mentioned?

Anybody here ever go on chaperoned dates?
by unbeliever ini use to get the biggest chuckle when the elders insisted that when going out on a date that someone older and mature had to go with you to make sure you don't fornicate.
how imposing!!
i have a friend (did the fade) that was stuck with her brother being the chaperone a couple of times when she was dating her then boyfriend.

I used to chaperone a 'sister' and her fiance with her sister. Funny, they weren't the ones that needed to be chaperoned.
