Do Jehovah’s witnesses pay such fines?
Do Jehovah’s witnesses pay to Satan's organisation in order not to show support or vote for Satan's organisation?

Watchtower Jul 22 - Jesus directed the GB on how to deal with Covid
by Listener in14 jesus provides wise direction in times of crisis.
the benefits of that direction were evident when the covid-19 pandemic broke out.
while many in the world were uncertain about what course to take, jesus made sure that we received clear guidance to keep us safe.

I remember one of their members boasting and saying that when other religious denominations are banned from meeting together in person. Jehovah’s witnesses will continue to do so. Since it is part of the government ploy to ban the preaching work. Fast forward to a month. They were already on ZOOM, training and learning seriously how to set up meetings on ZOOM.
They can continue to lie that....
"While many in the world were uncertain about what course to take,"
We know the certain course they had to take was to follow God’s ministers aka the GOVERNMENT of the DAY Romans 13: 1-5 to avoid the punishment and shame that follows when they disobey.

Pandemic as part of Bible prophecy?
by truthseeker ini was thinking that since russell started the movement in 1879 which became jehovah's witnesses in 1931 never has there been a period in time when all their activities just - stopped.
especially the preaching work.. do you think they will find some obscure verse in daniel that talks about this period of time and try to make a greater fulfillment?
like the 70 weeks of years or the 42 months?

Can we call them the masters of Newspaper exegesis?
Since events and happenings around the world are used to point at one Bible prophecy fulfillment or the other.
Newspaper exegesis mean......
The practice of interpreting the Bible though the lens of current events found in the headlines of newspapers rather than allowing the Bible to interpret itself and failing to take into account when prophetic events were to take place and to whom.

Disfellowshipping
by jhine inso last night my bible study group was discussing the healing of the blind man in john's gospel.
ch 9 .
the man's parents were reluctant to say much on the subject.

Didn't the organization classified excommunication aka disfellowshipment as terrorism and label other religious denominations as terrorist. Now that they equally use the same parameters
We know why some call them terrorist since they know where it root and stems from.

The books "Crisis of conscience" and "In search of Christian Freedom" did a lot in bidding the JW religious organization bye.
A challenge to refute the book was an exercise in futility.
After completely digesting the materials personally with a lot of note taking. I ensure I was able to see the practical benefits of the book for another two to three years within the set up of Jehovah's religious organization before exiting.
@ disillusioned you will find CoC and ISCoF really interesting to read. The moniker used by a person on a public forum led me to CoC, I discovered he wrote the second one ISCoF while reading CoC book. Immediately I completed CoC, I read ISCoF.
I tend to like the title of all the chapters of these books. It is after reading you will appreciate why these chapters are coined that way.

Am I Expected to Become One of Jehovah’s Witnesses if I Study the Bible With Them?

19 You might begin by asking him, ‘What do you think will be your biggest challenge in becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses?’ The student might answer, ‘I do not mind studying the Bible, but I will never become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses!’ If that is his attitude after he has studied for some time, is there any point in continuing the study?...... Watchtower January 2020 first study article paragraph 19
Easy peasy, you are expected to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses when you study with them.

Do we need to step out of religion and into Christ
by joe134cd ini was just thinking?
do we as people, who have been hurt by religion, need to refocus our position.
do we need to step out of an organisation, to concentrate on a relationship .

@Joe134cd
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
This looks more like relationship based on love.

Nice one @ Terry
From the pages of Crisis of conscience page 122 - 123 issues having to do with supreme court cases worn by the organisation was discussed....
Their decisions were applauded in the Society’s publications.
Sadly, however, the high standards of judgment and the approach to emotionally charged issues shown by these judges often appeared to be on a higher level than that manifested in many Governing Body sessions.
The expression of one Supreme Court justice in a particular Witness case comes to mind. He stated: The case is made difficult not because the principles of its decision are obscure but because the flag involved is our own. Nevertheless, we apply the limitations of the Constitution with no fear that freedom to be intelligently and spiritually diverse or even contrary will disintegrate the social organization. . . . freedom to differ is not limited to things that do not matter much. That would be a mere shadow of freedom. The test of its substance is the right to differ as to things that touch the heart of the existing order.
The confidence that the justice expressed in the ‘existing social order’ and the freedoms it espoused seemed considerably greater than the confidence expressed by some Governing Body members in their fellow Witnesses and the effect their freedom of conscience, if exercised, could have on the existing “Theocratic order.”
If the Supreme Court justices had reasoned as some of the Governing Body members reasoned, the Witnesses would likely have lost case after case.
My take............
The real winners are the judges who worked hard towards the interpretation of the laws as it were then and ensure that freedom of speech and conscience is not deprived.
