i was still in my satin pj's and had a tiara stuck on my head as i was playing make believe with my five year old.
i forgot i had it on, and they didn't seem to find that strange, lol.
The last visit I had from a JW was an older man that dropped off a tract and took off faster than I could say "apostate."
BTW, I'm still waiting for those elders that said they'd research the Beth Sarim info I told them about, and would get back to me. That was three years ago.

I was 22 when I became a JW. My brother had become one a few years earlier. The change I saw in him was phenominal. I didn't study with him, but with others in my area. I was hooked by the questions answered, the clear hope of salvation, and the seemingly logical way the JW's worshipped. I hated the emotional mumbo-jumbo I saw at the other churches. Sadly, I did no research. I bought the idea that no other religion was doing God's will. I was stupid, because I chose(unconsciously) not to research the WTS.
I finally drifted away. The stress of being a JW male with cong. duties, kids, and an "unbelieving" wife was too much. For two years I lived with the thought of dying at armageddon. Funny though, because I knew I couldn't go back for some reason. Then I got on the net and received the most important education of my life, an education still in progress.

now we all know for you who have attended meetings at the kingdom hall and heard speakers from the platform give us bible verses and telling us that the ruler of this world is the devil of which i firmly believe due to the fact that this world is completely warped.. .
doesn't it strike you funny to see that satan who makes the rules for his system can't keep them and tries to manipulate rules and regulations always in his favor and that of his seed.. .
#1 example- did you know that according to the bible that satan's agents keep transforming themselves into agents of light.

What bothers me is that admittedly imperfect men <a group of about 10 men> Get together and vote on things that are going to effect millions of Jehovah's Witnesses lives, and these Jehovah's Witnesses, if they wish to remain a member in good standing must adhere to whatever *rules* these imperfect men come up with in their secret meetings. They vote!

Did you know that the GB proposed at one time that the launching of the Soviet "sputnik" satellite was to be "new light"? Of course, it was voted down by the GB. Why then, were not the GB members that proposed it disciplined for apostasy? They came up with a new doctrine that supposedly didn't come from Jehovah, but since the GB votes on doctrinal matters that JW's eventually have to follow, anything can be proposed without sanction! Too weird.
