  i think when describing "no--thing" some, I for one, think of the only time it existed, before creation or the big bang. In one of the links above, Jean Paul Satres' philosophies are discussed and his treatment of "l'Neant", a word that brings to mind the conndition, non-exixtence before birth. interesting that those daring scientists featured above, that speculate about the pre-big bang times, all seem to include some pre-existing condition as a prelude to the big beginning. So, the void or nothing before the big first event was not a nothing at all. creationists take heart. we are all still learning. peace

  if there is any discussion of "nothing" having latent enregy and the like, it clearly is not "nothing". Take an equation. just because the product is 0 would not make it a nothing. so nothing is nothing. 0 is 0 it is not even a moebius strip (a twisted everything lazy eight symbol). peace not nothing is everything.

  I can think of there being nothing and it going on and on in time, and it still being nothing. nothing and the existence of time for me are not a contratition. nothing being in time does not make it a something. this concept is leading to other models that are useful tools for thought. peace.

  in my simplistic ways, I have no problem here, nothing is not a difficult mental concept, and thinking about it does not get it filled with anything. look at the word: it is NO THING. nothing material. matter is a form of energy. but the mystery is time. to my understanding there can be no-thing, but in can be in time for time is a no-thing. naive as I am.

  What is up with the influx of electronic readers at the Kingdom Hall

  crazy!.

  the local publishers seem to be jumping on the e-reader bandwagon.. sisters even in their 70's are showing up at the hall with ipads loaded with publications for the meetings for crying out loud!.

  a couple of these elderly sisters are having me get theirs ready ... should i add coc and captives of a concept ... perhaps studies vol vii ... to the library for them.

  is good at picking derogatory names for the above categories.

  so are the atheists, which is fine.. but really, those in "crisis of conscience" need all the help they can get, and a dignifying uplifting name would be great!

  elders just assume that you want to carry microphones and work your way up the spiritual ladder to that blissful state of total immersion in "kingdom matters.

  terry: good! its wt doublespeak to cover their misconception of christian identity and to put the 99.9% down (sounds like the GOP?)

  about abraham: I remember, but dont recall where, a statement by WTBTS: " we know of no scripture that indicates Abraham would ever have to take the emblems". (in the last 4 years.) That shows how limited by choice their knowledge or their acknowledgement is. here where wt is wrong:

  1) ALL of the Israel of God is IN the NEW COVENANT and has to take the emblems all 100% including the now restrained 99.9% of observers.

  2) of these, only the .1% (the spiritual super rich) get to rise to the top and stay there ( no new taxes on the super rich).

  3) off course abraham will have to take the emblems in the new system if he wants to get everlasting life. John 6.

  provided this (scriptures and all) is all valid. otherwise its just a better crossword puzzle, with buid in control mechanism.

  the girl killed in oregon....found murdered......was killed by a 'brother' in her congregation.. its all hitting the fan in gresham, oregon.

  i really hope this wasn't an affair gone bad.

  they went to the same congregation and lived in the same apartment complex.. yep.....spiritual paradise.. not going to lie...........i'm filled with rage right now..

  was there not in the early seventies a story north of toronto where a ice cream parlor witness lady was done in by a " brother" , and then when in prison a "special" pioneer married him for the conjugal visiting rights not to be wasted? history repeats itself, as expected happened to better people than that.

  better daze: you are right, only escape is this way. The angels are looking the wrong way if they protect against puff the magic dragon. and was not satan thrown down onto the earth, not in high heavens? and all those disasters? arms are locked too tight in motion-less exercise mode. I wonder wether the wtbts writer - artists - can ever picture, see the R&F without literature in their hands ?

  may be the angels are peering, peeping at the mags to read any new light? 1 Peter 1:12 eventually it has to be published like in public.
