i wonder if it will be published ?

i asked when would those responsible name and shame those institutions that have refused to join the redress scheme and if it was a one off event or are they going to continue to do so.. that was the gist of the message .it was to the herald sun newspaper printed in victoria and distributed nation wide.australia.their are about 5 institutions that have refused to sign up ,4 of them are very small institutions and the jehovah`s witnesses are by far the largest body refusing to join.. those of you in australia keep your eyes peeled to the herald sun to see if it gets published or not..

How Often is 1914 Openly Spoken of at the Meetings?

as someone who left in 1991 aged 21, one of my overriding memories of growing up in the watchtower was being able to "prove" the end times by referencing 1914.. major change in 95 then again after that.

if i'm being honest i could not even tell you now what the current teaching is.. for those who still attend the meetings, is it still openly spoken about?

i genuinely curious as i wonder if the teaching will be altogher dropped eventually, and one of the easiest ways to achieve that is to stop speaking about it.

1914 was 106 years ago when C.T.Russell believed the end would happen and it didn`t and the generation that would not pass away did in fact pass away.

However Jehovah`s Witnesses twist jesus words to mean "these generations " and not what he actually said "this generation"

but what makes an intelligent person actually believe they have the “truth” as taught by jehovah’s witnesses??

I would also contend that many reasonably intelligent people remain JW`s is simply because of pride .With the time and effort ,money invested in the religion over many years it can be hard to admit you have been fooled into believing something that is not true. So you cling onto it as long as you can until many like us here can no longer do so.With others they will never admit they have been fooled .

New JW article - Help children deal with disturbing news reports

the watchtower has the audacity to think it is some authority on the matter of telling parents how to deal with news reports that may disturb them, when for decades it has been promoting a horrific destruction of 99% of people currently living on earth, including detailed pictures in their own 'news reports'.. why would people print disturbing news reports?

one reason that they provide specifically relates to themselves as well.

children may have trouble putting the news in perspective.

And if I may add fast Jehu , If it is difficult for your child to talk about the event, suggest that he draw a picture about it instead.

And don`t beat about the bush son/daughter be as graphic as you can so I can see where your coming from that I maybe able to scare you more so you wont leave our "true religion".

Needing to Questions Elders to Help Husband Understand

my husband insist that i talk to the elders.

it is something i 100% plan on doing for the simple fact of my relationship with him.

i know some of you may disagree but it seems like the best option for us.. problem/question: .

Your husband insisting that you talk to elders implies he is not comfortable, assured or committed to the JW beliefs or the other concerns you wish to raise, otherwise, he should be able to discuss those matters without needing other men to intervene on his behalf.

He knows doing personal research into the concerns you raise will require effort on his part which may lead to his own questions and doubts. By insisting you meet with the elders, he is attempting to take the easy route as he knows he will not need to put in any effort and, they will attempt to change your thinking, not his.

Incognito has summed it up perfectly.

As others have said do not meet with the Elders.The religion to him is not based on doctrines or even a true understanding of what he is supposed to believe.IT`s based on emotion and a feel good utopian religion.

Rather than him making you talk to Elders I would suggest you put the onus on him to read Don Camerons excellent book "Captives of A Concept " available on-line and is very cheap to download ,and if that doesn`t open his eyes ,then the options are yours.

Dutch JW publish open letter protesting accusations of mishandling child abuse and government inquiry

today watchtower netherlands published an open letter in a national newspaper, lamenting the accusations about them not handling child abuse issues very well.. they protest a scientific report made by utrecht university (by request of the government).. they protest almost everything our minister of justice has said about them.. they place themselves in the role of victims of unfair treatment, discrimination.. they point their finger a other religions (foremost the catholic church) because they are much worse.. they refer to jw being persecuted in wwii, as if that were relevant to the issue at hand.. all in all, they (probably) spent about 25k to 30k euro to publish their bullshit in a national newspaper.. not a single trace of any self-awareness, let alone even a hint of an apology.

REVISITING Awake October 1968 and the "THIS GENERATION" in association with OVERLAPPING GENERATION and THESE GENERATIONS

the former image was obtained from a topic in the humor and joke section of this platform and it seems to carry a underground information that is equally powerful.. since a food company had been producing a particular product for four generations since 1914, how come the wtbts publishing company are still producing for a one generation since 1914?.

awake october 1968 stated............ even if we presume that youngsters 15 years of age would be perceptive enough to realize the import of what happened in 1914, it would still make the youngest of "this generation" nearly 70 years old today(year 1968).

so the great majority of the generation to which jesus was referring has already passed away in death.

Jesus said: "This generation" not, these overlapping generations.

But of course JW`s have to twist the scriptures to fit their absurd doctrines and failed prophecies .

Luke Chap.3: 23-38 lists 76 generations from Adam creation to the birth of Jesus a period of 4024 years according to WT chronology.

4024 divided by 76 = 53 years., One generation ! There are many more scriptures that give the same ball park figure for one generation .

I too truly feel for you jp1692 and I`m sure there are many more suffering just like you.Thankfully all my immediate family are all out with only one niece and her young family still in.

Take care my friend , as you say its a cult that destroys families.
