Repercussions for sexual immorality
by Veryconflicted inhello, i was hoping to get some clarification about how people are disciplined for immorality as a jw.
i became involved with a co-worker a few years ago, she was fairly aggressive and she initiated a physical relationship very quickly.
at the time i did not know she was married and a jw.

have negative information about Jehovah's organization ?
That`s only because there is so much factual negative information about the Jehovah`s Witness religion on the internet that anybody can freely go to for that information.
So why not avail yourself of this free information that could save you years and years of heartache
and unnecessary stress in your life.

Why do the Elders stress the importance of meeting attendance....
by Davros inwhy do the elders always stress to the rank and file members of the congregation how important meeting attendance is, as well as the importance of always paying attention to every word that's being presented from the slave?
but then, during the meeting, they rarely sit and pay attention themselves to the wonderful spiritual banquet being presented?
they always seem so busy, don't they?

A mother of a friend of mine who had doubts and was not going to meetings anymore said to him words to this effect " just start coming back to meetings again and eventually you will start believing it again "
Though that was the gist of it in a nutshell.
I don`t believe she realised what she was actually saying.

CO zoom visit this week
by nowwhat? inhe reinterated the end time events.
destruction of babylon the great, proclamation of peace and security, then our hailstorm message and finally armageddon.

nowwhat?
, He actually talked about the destruction of Babylon The Great ? Didn`t they say that this actually happened in 1919 ,the fall that is ,and from then on it was gradually going to die off ?
100 years later and there is still no sign of any of this ever happening ? If anything the Muslim religion is stronger than ever .
Other eastern religions are not nor have ever been in any decline since 1919 either as far as I can tell. And lets not forget ,years ago the United Nations has already declared a year of International Peace and security
1986 was it ?
Oh yeah the hailstone message ,its a claytons message the message ,that never materialises ,the carrot to keep the R&F in expectation ,its like the big "A" just around the corner ,the Great tribulation that never eventuates ,and a paradise earth that is not even mentioned in the Bible.
Its time for Jehovah`s Witnesses to wake up and smell the coffee .

Within a year to 18 months of my first contact with the JW ,I was baptised and not only that I brought my girlfriend in and she was baptised with me at the same circuit Assembly in the Altona area of Melbourne ,Vict. Aust.
I could not remember the name of the suburb where we were baptised and I talked to Mrs smiddy3 and at first she couldnt remember and then a flash of light ,it was St. Albans circuit Assembly in 1960 about November .12TH ?
The reason I wanted to get this right ,I always hope to know of somebody that was there and who can relate to these experiences .

This hailstorm message is just another carrot stick ,it will never be delivered because once it has been delivered their is no way to back off from it. Unless of course they have figured out a way to prolong it like the overlapping generation crap. Maybe the hailstorm message can be something that can go on and on and on and on.......
Is the hailstone message going to be against the Governments ?
Is the haistone message going to be against all religions including Muslims ? good luck with that one
Or is the hailstone message going to be against the Governments and the religions of the world ?
Then again they will have to be very careful with this hailstone message as it could just be the end of their religion altogether whereby they, the top dogs can head to the hills and live in luxury with what they have skimmed off the rank and file members who have donated all of these millions of $$$$$$$
Nothing would surprise me with what the GB / Lawyers would get up to.

Thank`s for that wozza ,i really dont remember him coming ,so obviously I couldn`t have been too impressed with him ,but then again it was indoctrinated in me from the outset that we were all equall . Though you think by now I would have seen the reality of it all.And maybe I did and just didn`t care who he was or claimed to be.
We did attend a convention one time in Adelaide we were billeted out in Elizabeth ? And it was used as a kids learning place of some sort ? I only have very vague memories of that .We took my wifes younger single sister to that convention and where she was billeted out was with a family and apparently what she told us then was he tried to hit upon her ? I cant even remember about what year that would have been , hang on it would have to have been during the 1960`s.
It couldn`t have been you wozza could it ? LOL

Neither my mom or dad were religious but they made both my sisters and I go to sunday school when we were kids.
When I was about 10 or 11 I rebelled and said I was not going anymore ,it was bad enough I had to go to school 5 days a week and I wanted the weekends for play.Sub consciously the Bible having had it drummed into me as being the word of God I was very curious about it.During my teenage years I always knocked around older people than myself and in the group I was with a couple of them had actually done time in jail. And I was able to start drinking in pubs with them when I was only 17 and by the time I was 19 I did have a drinking problem .In spite of that I still was able to keep my job that I started when I was 14 .A job paid money and money bought me tobacco and alcohol plus anything else I wanted to buy .
It was a workmate who bit the bullet his words when I commented on how I thought the body was an amazing thing and how it functioned .That thought and those words changed my life forever .I still look back at that sometimes and "wonder" how such a thing as a simple sentence can change one`s life .I was an avid reader in those days and I took any and everything I could that the WT org. had published and lapped it all up .
Two things struck a chord with me .It was the first time I had ever heard that the God of the Bible had a personal name JEHOVAH ,and the other was that Jehovah`s Witnesses never had a Clergy class and that everyone was on an equal footing .A person gave a talk from the platform and when he finished he came and sat down in the audience with the rest of us.Within a year to 18 months of my first contact with the JW ,I was baptised and not only that I brought my girlfriend in and she was baptised with me at the same circuit Assembly in the Altona area of Melbourne ,Vict. Aust.Another year passed and we were married in a KH in Brunswick Melbourne ,called the Flemington Congregation. their were few KH`s available in those days.
In the 32 years we were in this religion we brought up two boys in the religion ,my wifes sister and her 3 daughters and a nephew .
None of which are in the religion today .I`m one of the lucky ones. And I`m the only one who has any interest whatsoever in what goes on in the religion or what I consider ,doing what I can to wake people up or give them something to think about or even to validate the reason someone has left the religion.
I have always worked my entire life , even before leaving school I worked as a paper boy selling newspapers after school and on Saturday a/noons,now retired and living a comfortable life with the idol of my life ,my wife approaching in about 8 months ,60 years of marriage.
So up yours WTB&TS ,we live a happy successful life away from the BORG.
I apologise for being so long winded.
I would love to hear from others who have converted and not just born ins.

Reassessing the Size of Mormons, Adventists and Witnesses (2019 academic paper)
by Corney inthis is one of the most recent academic papers on jw demographics.
it analyzes official membership statistics of the three churches, compares them with census data and provides estimated global figures (9-10 million mormons, 17 million witnesses, and 28 million adventists - all are self-identified adherents, not necessarily active ones).
i think this is a good research though some aspects of the subject remain unexplored.. this article compares the growth of three religious groups, the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints, seventh-day adventists, and jehovah’s witnesses.

To put it into more perspective slim ,we here in Australia never heard Fred Fraz give any talks that I can remember and I was JW from 1960 onwards .
Talks were always given mainly by Australian brothers from Bethel when it was a District assembly or an International convention .I remember L .Barry ,Henschell ,,I don`t think I ever heard Knorr ever give a talk either.
They were purely for the American audiences or maybe even Europe ,probably Australia didn`t count for much in those days..
Thats the way I remember it anyway .
