a new doctoral dissertation in theology from gothenburg university claims that the bible has been misinterpreted when it comes to how jesus died.

gunnar samuelsson who wrote the dissertation has studied the original texts and sees no explicit references to crucifiction.

i had been studying with the jehovah's witnesses for the last couple years.

they have been interesting study sessions and have learned quite a bit about them and their beliefs.

much of what they teach is what i had learned through personal bible study.. growing up was normal.

Ethos seems to be stuck on ONE Specific Event...and completely ignores ALL aspects that the Babylon power would bring to bear on Judah and all the surrounding nations.

The ONE specific event is the destruction for Jerusalem and dethronment of Zedekiah. He fails to see this is the LAST event of Judah's plight, and only because they refused to obey Jeremiah and listen to the false prophets....

if one wants to address "the exiles that would be returned" As one separate topic, regardless of time, Jeremiah clearly shows the exiles were Daniels group, followed by Jechoniah's group. We can show NT proof that the exile was considered to start with Jechoniah Matthew 1:11. And we can show scripture proof of the exiles that were returned..Matthew 1:13 and Ezra 2:1-2... Here I show 2 proofs of who were considered to be the "exiles" and those "exiles that were returned..

I asked ETHOS for ONE SCRIPTURE to show proof that ANYBODY was returned from Zedekiah's Group, considering HE believes that these are the exiles that Jeremiah's letter was intended. He has as NOT shown any scripture. The plain reading of Jeremiah's letter was sent to the first and second group, Daniel and Jechoniah as Zedekiah was still ruling in Jerusalem. If he can't see this flaw in this specific issue, how can he reason on the rest.

Its not as though Jehovah Witnesses are just another religion or Christian denomination, they are claiming that they ALONE are being used by God to preach the New Good News, that the separation work is being done through them, not the original Good News @Galatians 1:6-9. All based on flawed end time eschatology.

It has been suggest that the best study to have with JWs is a history of their organisation, to show when and why they were chosen as the only channel. Most JWs know very little about their own history, as most of the their original publications are now obsolete. So do yourself a favor and ask for a history lesson for your next study and get a copy of a book called Captivites of a Concept by Don Cameron, its also online, ...

Also remember the apostle Paul said we preach CHRIST NOT OURSELF, ....the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society do NOT follow that principle as they are self serving and preach themselves.

You do realize that Christ will NOT be your mediator with God, as hidden discretely in the WTS teachings is that Christ for most of them is the Composite of 144k and 1......

You will not have the gift of righteousness in Christ now. You will not be able to claim the promise of God at 1 John 5:6-13 ....that we have the Gift of Everlasting life NOW that empowers us to over come Satan, sin and death ......

Exegesis and eisegesis are methods of hermeneutics to interpret the bible.

When we read God’s Word, an interpretive method is used to understand what God is saying. In fact, we always use a method of interpretation when we read any book or whether we are listening to someone speak. In a conversation, we interpret not just by the words spoken, but we also use the speaker’s body language to interpret. With God’s word, there are two methods that people use, exegesis or eisegesis. Exegesis is defined as “reading out of the scripture.” Eisegesis is defined as “reading into the scripture.” Some incorporate a little of both, maybe a little bit more of one over another. Unless one is critically aware of their method of reading and studying scripture, both methods are used to some degree though a person leans more heavily towards one over the other. The correct method to read and understand God’s word is exegesis. This means that we come to the table and allow God’s word to define our theology.

You do feel that when we die we will transform to a heavenly existence. You also feel that the 144,000 was symbolic, but it symbolized all who lost their lives in the first century before Jerusalem fell. Of course they actually numbered far more than 144,000. So either way Christians are in a good position provided they truly believe in Jesus. Only those who are really corrupt will fall at Armageddon? *****

A: yes, based on Jesus's statement about THAT generation would BY NO MEANS pass, until ALL these things will occur, the destruction of Jerusalem, the persecution of Christians and his presence to resurrect them into a New Jerusalem in the heavens, they were the stones built on him. The congregation of the first born in the heavens.

2: Q: You don't believe in a secondary fulfillment?

A: I believe that Satan will be let loose for a short time Rev. 20 for a final battle, at the end of Christ's millenium reign, which is the "church" age from Penticost to whenever.

A: those who are part of the first resurrection rev 20, rebirth in Christ, faithfully life course in his grace and empowerment will be with Jesus. Absent from The body present with the lord...

4: Q: Are the 144,000 was symbolic.

A: the NUMBER is symbolic, as the 12 tribes of Israel that they are taken from. However, I believe they are the little flock, which were mostly Jews.

It seems in Rev. 21 that they have spiritual rewarded "positions" they are the spiritual building, the New Jerusalem, the great crownd will obviously have to change their flawed Adamic nature to conform to the second Adam aka Christ Jesus, so ALL Christians will be blessed with immortality. Spiritual leadership and positions are not like earthly powers, as Jesus said...... AND ..Better is ONE DAY in your courts ....than a thousand elsewhere.

A: absolutely,.... how many Christians have had a "G-Trip in their life time ? do we ignore all the Christians that read the NT from the FDS of the first century ....... Peter said, as we await the New Heavens and New Earth, we should live lives that are acceptable for this New Enviornment...

mortality Needs to be swallowed up by immortality, that means ALL creation will be freed from decay in the Eternal State.
