I compared the reasoning book with their latest info in the Insight online:

Last Days
Definition: The Bible uses the expression “last days” to refer to the concluding time period leading up to a divinely appointed execution that marks the end of a system of things. The Jewish system with its worship built around the temple in Jerusalem experienced its last days from 33 to 70 C.E. What occurred then was pictorial of what would be experienced in a greatly intensified way and on a global scale at a time when all nations would be facing the execution of judgment decreed by God. The present wicked system of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the “great tribulation.”

Later that same day, Jesus again used practically the same words, saying: “Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.” (Mt 24:34) In this instance, Jesus was answering a question regarding the desolation of Jerusalem and its temple as well as regarding the sign of his presence and of the conclusion of the system of things. So his comment about “this generation” logically had an application down to 70 C.E. However, he was also using the word “generation” with reference to humans whose lives would in some way be associated with the foretold events during his presence.—Mt 24.

I notice that the jw "Scriptures for Christian Living" doesn't even have a section on The Last Days or The Kingdom..

Great topic.

I remember they said at first it was 'like having a circuit overseer in your ministry bag'..

Then as the years rolled on and it became so doctrinally out of date in parts it was an utter embarrassment - I remember as a pioneer thinking " If taught the householders what is in this book in it's later years I would be booted out of jw land for apostasy!!

Does anyone know how the 1985 and 1989 versions differed??

time to give us your vote for lloyd's fall from grace this month.. december 6th he was at 406. as of today, january 3rd, he's at 388. that is exactly, on the dot, where he was january 3rd of last year!

he's lost all gains from his begging videos and reminders and tin cup waving and etc.. so, fire up the shrooms and let us know where you think flab boy will be on february 2nd.

did too many jehovah's witness kids get curious about wanting to go to a real college?.

they really don't give an explanation, it's like old light and new light, one reads the new light, and .

in the spirit of loyalty, the subject gets dropped, and there's no more talk about the old name again.. .

Yes, I can quite agree that there must be many more creepy elder stories.

Reminded me that some years ago a sister I have been lifelong friends with confided in me that an elder I thought was a good guy was actually quite a creep.

He visited her when she was ill and when he knew her husband was at work.After some chit chat he then started stroking her hand and said if there was anything he could do for her spiritually,or physically he would oblige.

She told him to leave immediately.

Within a couple of years he ran off with another sister in the hall he was 'shepherding' through difficulties in her life..

why are they so fascinated with following ancient jewish 'principles' ?.

isa 43:10, 44:8 ' you are my witnesses ' which they based their religious identity on, jehovah's witnesses, yet those verses address the jews, not christians, which they profess to be.. jesus said in ac 1:8 'you will be witnesses of me ', .

.. but the more I read the Bible, and communicate on this forum and on Beroean Pickets, the stronger the feeling is growing that there is something very different about the current JW religion, it seems quite sinister..
