  i've been inactive for a very long time now (like 10+ years), so, i don't expect to hear anything from it, but my parents are worried i'll get df.

  I've put wonderful solar coloured lights, and fairy lights up in my garden.

  They shine beautifully every day of the year, so no spying jw can ever work out what I celebrate or believe.

  All my neighbours love the lights. Only the miserable git celebration hating jw's wouldn't like them.

  i was once was told by an jw elder it was a rule not to gossip or swear as it could harm someone, but i guess the new light allows this.

  it was bad enough when they were calling people worldly now i heard a jw gossiping about someone and it was mean.just another reason i would never go back.

  Memories of Excessive Laughter

  jw's are not known for laughter.

  there are the rare exceptions.

  they are more known for their fear mongering and doomsday scenarios where "the dead shall come to be as manure on the surface of the ground from one end of the earth clear to the other".

  Sorry to hear about that Blondie.

  I met a brother who had been a good friend, at a district convention years ago who had moved away from our area - he was a lovely genuine guy.

  He had finally been made an elder in his new hall.

  I asked him why it had taken so long in our old hall?

  He said he learnt that someone had been spreading a rumour to the elders in his original hall for years that he was writing 'worldly' science fiction stories so he didn't qualify.

  The other elders never came to him to verify this - he told me he had written stories for an english exam back in the 1970's when he was still in school - who spread these stories I asked.

  A distant relative in the hall who was the most bitter, twisted, gossipy old elder.

  This was the same horrible guy I took delight in ignoring when I had successfully faded for a number of years.

  This same false story spreading, bully elder looked like he was going to burst into tears when I blanked him, and yet he was the most vicious, gossiping elder bully I have ever known..

  Had a guy like that in one of my previous congs - learnt recently he's the presiding overseer/elder co-ordinator or whatever they call them there now!
