since jw are not allowed to live together and cannot have sexual relations before they get married are many jw marriages unhappy?
i hear that they think jw marriages are much happier than normal marriages...can anyone verify that?.
I dont know if initiating sexual contact and living together before marriage guarantees a happy marriage, jw or not.
I do think many jw marriages are phony, in the sense that either one or both are "in heat" and need to get married to avoid fornicating. I remember one couple actually abandoning their wedding reception and never came back---not too much guesswork as to where they could have gone
Something that occurred quite frequently where Im from was that a sister from a divided household wanted to marry a brother "strong in the truth" or a bethelite, so her status in the congregation instantly improved after that, instantly making her an elderette, regardless of whether her husband even was an elder.
Cant speak for myself though, I came from a divided household, and what constantly came out of my mother's mouth was "I wouldn't have these problems with your father if he was a witness." I often thought that their marriage would be 100% better if she was not a witness!
or do other chores?
any here archaic and expect the woman to do all of the work?
my mother taught me that women don't need our help, but we should give it anyway, to show our love.
RR
Will you marry me?
My husband doesnt do sh*t!!
REALLY?? OMG! How? Im sad, again today, more bad news
John Gotti is dead too!!!
i was looking at another thread.

and was wondering,if i'm not being too forward, what kh did everyone here go to.. i used to go to the cranston kh in ri, usa .
First, it was called the Yonkers Spanish Congregation. In 1988 it split into two: Getty Square and Lincoln Park (I belonged to Linclon Park). Then in 1992 more folks were redistributed among the two congos. Plans started to take place to build a new hall in Mt Vernon. It was finally completed around 1997 or 1998, but I was already gone.
People were beside themselves, talking about the growth. It grew alright, but it had nothing to do with new converts. It was about immigration and the average family size of 4 children per married couple. So both congregations were just full of kids, not adults or converts!
i think that any job that involves customer service or dealing with the public really sucks!
i used to be a bank teller for 4 years, i finally got fired for letting this one obnoxious customer really have it!
some of the worst type of customers were the ones who left their brains who knows where.
HAAA! good one Valis.....if you can call it a "job"

Some of the worst type of customers were the ones who left their brains who knows where. Is it too difficult to add 100 plus 100? Since when can you get a 3 dollar bill from a bank? Ok, so you don't know your account number. Do you know your name? Or am I supposed to guess that too?(teller=mindreader?)
Is it too hard to have your stuff ready before you stand before me? Why do some people insist on staring off into space while standing on line, only to get up to me and not have a deposit or payment slip, not endorse their checks, not have ID? Could you have done that while you were on line???
Worse than the customers (members, since I worked at a credit union) was the management. Reminded me of the GB, constantly changing the rules when something went wrong. It didn't matter if the teller did everything he/she was taught to do, if money was lost due to fraud or theft, it was his/her fault for not following "procedure" whatever that procedure was at that particular moment.
NEEDLESS to say, I DONT miss my job one bit! I'll just sit on my arse for a while and collect unemployment
Anyone else out there with similar experiences? Or are some jobs out there actually worse than a teller's? ( cant even imagine it!)
i just wanted to share the following personality test with all of you: .
i've found it to be extremely interesting and helpful in my relationships with those of different personality types.

Profile: ESTJ
Revision: 2.3
Date of Revision: 7 Dec 99
ESTJs thrive on order and continuity. Being extraverted, their focus involves organization of people, which translates into supervision. While ENTJs enjoy organizing and mobilizing people according to their own theories and tactically based agendas, ESTJs are content to enforce "the rules," often dictated by tradition or handed down from a higher authority.
ESTJs are joiners. They seek out like-minded companions in clubs, civic groups, churches and other service organizations. The need for belonging is woven into the fiber of SJs. The family likewise is a central focus for ESTJs, and attendance at such events as weddings, funerals and family reunions is obligatory.
Tradition is important to the ESTJ. Holidays, birthdays and other annual celebrations are remembered and observed often religiously by this type. The ESTJ is inclined to seek out his roots, to trace the family heritage back to honored ancestors both for a sense of family respectability and for a sense of security and belonging.
Service, the tangible expression of responsibility, is another key focus for ESTJs. They love to provide and to receive good service. The ESTJ merchant who provides dependable service has done much to enhance her self image.
ESTJs have an acute sense for orthodoxy. Much of their evaluation of persons and activities reflects their strong sense of what is "normal" and what isn't. ESTJ humor is frequently centered around something or someone being off center or behaving abnormally.
ESTJs promote the work ethic. Power, position and prestige should be worked for and earned. Laziness is rarely viewed with ambivalence nor benevolence by this type.
"Some men can make decisions and some cannot. Some men fret and delay under criticism. I used to have a saying that applies here, and I note that some people have picked it up" [which refers to "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."]. (Truman, Harry S., Mr. Citizen)
The ESTJ is outspoken, a person of principles, which are readily expressed. The ESTJ is not afraid to stand up for what she believes is right even in the face of overwhelming odds. ESTJs are able to make the tough calls.
Occupations attracting ESTJs include teaching, banking, political office, and management at all levels.
i have a vivid memory of 1975 even though i was only 6 years old.
i remember the whispers and the fervor surrounding the year.
i even had an uncle who marked his calendar every day with big red xs proclaiming that he couldn't wait for "this evil system of things to end.".
I was in my mother's womb until July.
Years later, mom told me about the 1975 thingy.....she said many had very high expectations, and when nothing happened, people flooded out.
So I asked her, "why would you all think that back then?"
Her reponse: "It was SATAN'S fault." (where are my rolling eyes when I need em?!)
things are gettn interestinger and interestinger every day.
on the international scene any number of scenarios can serve as triggers to set off wwiii, or the tribulation, whatever you may prefer to call it.
the next cross-border atrocity by rogue militants could easily detonate a conflagration between nuclear-poised india and pakistan.
The way I see it, you have forfieted any right to demand of me a response
uh, when did he do that? And how come you are the only one that sees it that way?
why are you so conceited? who do you think you are?
dont bother to answer if all you're going to do is preach and/or insult me.
