LOL Smiddy. For the very short time that he took part in field service, my dad was the opposite. He couldn't get away from either a closed or open door fast enough.

They don't even have to rebel. God is the giver of life, and life is His to take back if He so chooses. This is how we were always taught. God did not need a reason. Since He is the personification of mercy, the fact that we are alive at all is due to his merciful nature. Most (if not all) Christians will admit that we are not deserving of life, that it is a gift granted us by God.
And that God is also the personification of justice. Which means He would be justified in taking back that which was given undeservedly. Imagine living for an eternity with that particular sword of Damocles hanging over your head.

20 Things I Don't Understand about Jehovah's Witnesses
by Vanderhoven7 ini don’t understand how jehovah’s witnesses can rightly claim:.
that less than 150,000 faithful christians existed prior to the 20th century....when allegedly millions were martyred during the first 3 centuries of the common era alone.
unique ability to interpret scripture...when interpretation of prophecy has been 100% wrong for over 130 years.. .

Fisherman: And they corrected it.
If they've been wrong once, how can you be sure they are not wrong now? Or won't be wrong again in the future? Do you feel that God is responsible for their mistakes, or does he allow them to stumble about in the dark sometimes?

Fisherman: That doesn’t disqualify them as God’s org or falsify their correct understanding of the Bible.
But if the dates were derived via 'Bible chronology' and/or a study of scripture, doesn't that mean their understanding of the Bible is not correct?

Fisherman: JW have erred in interpreting the year of the great tribulation but not in interpreting prophecy or scriptures relating to the time of the end
But they did get those dates wrong. Wasn't it at the 1922 convention that Rutherford was still pushing the relevance of dates like 1799, 1844, and 1874? Didn't Russell believe that 1914 would be the end of mankind's rule, and that Christ had taken his heavenly throne in 1874?
If Russell originally stated that 1914 was the actual end of the old world, then the present claim that he always identified it as the year of Christ's heavenly coronation is false. It is a lie that is adhered to in order to support a narrative history that is itself a lie. I don't see how that can be reconciled.

Diogenesister: do you think he would attempt to have it removed if there were no commentary around it?
I think he will take every action he can against anything that is uploaded. Most of what he tries will be useless aside from whatever value it has as bullying tactics. A copyright claim might work, though remember that copyright is meant to protect a work from being monetized by others or preventing the copyright owner from monetizing the work. So it's possible that he would not have a sufficient claim to get it taken down. But many websites will do so anyway, out of an overabundance of caution.
And besides, the full video is a bit of a slog. Any of the commentary videos already out there have the salient points covered, and links to them would be more useful for information purposes. But I'd ask first, since linking them could make them targets of renewed harassment by Evans's more rabid followers.

In Coming to America, John Amos's character gets rid of one of his daughter's suitors who knocked at their front door and --not wanting her to know who it was-- claims it was JWs.
I believe that in the original version of Frankenstein, one of the people in the first scene makes a reference to Jehovah, though obviously not to the JWs, who would have only adopted the name around that time.

Investment departments in Bethel
by Mikejw ini was a bethelite in london for many years then got reassigned to the field and then went on brd from the start of chelmsford right upto covid.. during my years at the branch i was sometimes asked to be on a team who went to homes donated to the branch when some older one died.. this happenes an awful lot, everything is left to the branch in the will.
the unbelieving family is furious they didn’t get left anything and sometimes they tried to get their elderly relatives possessions and there was a legal battle .
but in the end a team of us would go and empty the property and another team would clean it up and put it on the market to sell it for the worldwide work.. all the possessions were sorted into trash or possibly valuable .

Mikejw: If you look at pictures of them when they were younger elders they never wore them, but once you get to a certain level a bit like the degrees of masons you get certain rings.
If you hold the rings next to a fire, does an ancient inscription appear on them?

Toblerone5: On other News, the Patrons are up to 469 ?
Patreon most likely updates the number of people joining in real time (ie, on a daily basis) but updates the number of people who leave at the end of the specific support term. If your page is set up to accept monthly subs, then the number of people who leave probably isn't updated until the end of the month, which is when their subscription would expire.
So it's not unusual for the numbers to rise a few times over the course of a month, then get updated at the end to reflect the people who ended their support. If you follow the numbers every day or week, you might be frustrated to find them climbing until month's end. I think the better way to look at it is the long term pattern, which in his case shows a significant drop since the beginning of the year.
