I agree with Gorb, it can be difficult to figure out what they are doing. Sometimes it seems as if they're not sure themselves, but it might be that they are quietly allowing a few trial balloons to see if they can keep more people in by easing the rules on shunning. As others already pointed out, they are getting some pushback from governments on issues like shunning and rejection of blood transfusions. It might be better for them, in the long run, to make changes and conform with that pushback in order to try and keep membership numbers from declining (or declining faster).

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses softening their view of Faders?
by Darkknight757 inso my in-laws actually went out to dinner with us today.
normally, since leaving in 2016, they wouldn’t eat with us or talk much to me.
(since i did convince their daughter to leave the cult).

So let me get this straight. He's started a "defamation law suit" on people who have put videos out there and he's not watched them?
I think he is saying that he won't provide specifics in an online comment, but via his legal team through a civil suit. I don't know how much information the plaintiff in a civil suit is required to give to the defendant, but they do need to make their case in court at some point. But -total hypothetical here *cough*- if you don't really have a case, you can string people along with "hints" and threats until they finally realize that you're not actually going to file anything. If the person you're lying to isn't savvy, it can be a very effective intimidation tactic.
Or, if they realize that you can't really do anything to them, they can crank up the mockery to eleven and make you wish you hadn't tried to be so clever. And then the threats and sly comments just make you look like a clown.

So... his "detractors don't seem to care about [his daughters] at all."
It's cringe-inducing to see how bad he is at damage control. The guy who has probably destroyed his marriage and humiliated his wife by visiting hookers, sexting "women," and "dating" sex workers is concerned that other people aren't worried about his poor daughters. Yes, that's what they'll take away from this when they're old enough to understand- daddy seemed like such a nice man, I sure wish his detractors hadn't kept pulling back the curtain.
"A multi-billion dollar cult has so far failed to silence me"
...neither have your lawyers or PR people, assuming any of them exist. And neither have your remaining supporters, many of whom keep giving you the same advice we were giving you from the start- stop tossing gasoline on the fire, it's just making it worse for you.
It looks like one of his current attempts at misdirection is demanding that Kim prove that she is a retired lawyer. Which would change... what, exactly? Here's an idea, Kim- tell him that you are retired as a lawyer, but are now a professional activist, and it is no one's business what you do with your legal advice.

On the bright side, there are only so many times he can add you to the litigation.

If that wasn't Evans, then I'd have to wonder why anyone would think that trying to frame him is a good idea. All it could do is help him, because he could really start to cry persecution. He's been doing a bang-up job of making himself look bad, all by himself. Really, the most effective person at making Lloyd Evans look bad is Lloyd Evans.
I'm curious how he'll respond. If it gets enough attention, I assume he'll tweet about it or make a short video. But if that was him, what can he say? Claim it wasn't him, that it was a setup? That would end badly. That it isn't anyone's business? Something something about airing people's dirty laundry? That it's really an attack on his poor, long-suffering wife and kids? That he's a professional activist, and you're not?
I'm inclined to think that it's him. And if it is, then I'm thinking he might hit that next Patreon level much sooner than I thought...

If that were true, then every civil case would be proceeded by a criminal case, regardless of the chance of success.
You are correct. I meant to refer to a case that has already been adjudicated, which can mean that it was dismissed by a judge (which is what I expect will happen) or that the defendant was found guilty or innocent. For Evans, the only outcome that would be useful to him would be a guilty verdict.

Anyone else remember the Awake saying this?
by BottanicPepper ini may have put this in the wrong thread.
if so, i'm sorry.. my conundrum is this.... i am almost completely certain that an awake back in the 80's/90's mentioned a group of rock bands we shouldn't listen to and i seem to remember them actually naming guns and roses.. i can't find anything now, and i'm wondering if it's the mandela effect, or if it's another case of the cdrom versions of the awakes being doctored again.. does anyone else remember this?
or am i crazy?

We need God's kingdom. Just... not quite yet. If you think things are bad, remember that you are waiting on a being who made himself human just so he could spend a few days being horrifically tortured and killed. His tolerance for pain and suffering is way higher than you might imagine. -

2)So that when & if he lodges a civil suit, he can document that he registered a criminal complaint as supporting evidence?
I think that depends on the rules regarding evidence for civil trials in Croatia. It's likely that they would allow it, since it can help with the determination of liability. But Evans would not want to refer to it unless there was a conviction. Stating in a civil trial that he tried to initiate criminal proceedings but was unsuccessful would hurt his case. An acquittal would be worse, and the defendants could use that to undermine his case (if they, for some reason, decided to travel to Croatia to defend themselves, lol). But the criminal case won't go anywhere. He filed it (assuming he really did file it) for the PR value.
Or for what he perceived to be the PR value, anyway. I think the 'legal action' angle is a bad idea that will blow up in his face.
