In verses 4-5, 11, and 24, Jesus warns against being lead astray by people peddling false claims. And elsewhere, he had warned them against trying to figure out when the end would come. You almost think he was referring specifically to the WTS.

WHEN is the Kingdom of God coming?
by Fisherman inwhen is the kingdom of god coming?.
on being asked by the pharisees when the kingdom of god was coming, he answered them: “the kingdom of god is not coming with paratherisis; 21 nor will people say, ‘see here!’ or, ‘there!’ for look!
the kingdom of god is in your midst.” —lu 17:20,21. .

And let's face it- Croatia is not going to ask any country to extradite someone for making fun of a person on the internet. Nor would any country comply with such a request. It tells their citizens that their government will send them packing at a moment's notice for no reason, instead of protecting them as they would be expected to.
The closest he'll get to any kind of decree is when the judge reads the complaint, looks up, and asks "are you people serious?"

Anybody who was in this religion/organization for decades had to have seen the results of what happens to people who got college/career versus those who did not.
I knew an elder who was a long-time JW and had worked with many in the GB. He told me once about a time when he was butting heads with his daughter, who wanted to go to college. He was adamantly against it, as the organization had long cautioned against higher education. Better to prepare for the last days by pioneering, he felt. But she was being stubborn.
So he spoke with one of the GB members about it, explaining the situation. The GB member asked him "tell me, brother, has your daughter ever caused you any problems?" The elder answered that no, she had not. The GB member replied "then why create a problem with her now?"
Incredibly, the GB member was telling him to go ahead and let his daughter go to college and get her degree. Having gotten this advice from one of God's Own Mouthpieces, he relented and allowed her to attend college.
I think about that when I see the continued admonition against higher education by the WTS. When it was convenient, their own leadership felt that it was a viable option. But the rest of us? Those without a direct pipeline to the boardroom? Sorry, no degree for you!

I think Gold would be much more likely to make a formal response to a criminal complaint than the others, and he might also publicize the case to a larger audience. I don't think Evans wants either of those things to happen. He wants to be known as a pre-eminent exJW and activist against the cover-up of CSA by the organization. He doesn't want to be known as the person who cheated on his wife by visiting prostitutes repeatedly, a fact that he announced to the world in a video that won't ever go away, but which could become viral.
He's walking a very fine tightrope, and so far has not done a very good job of it. But I think even he knows that there are certain actions he could take which would ruin him very quickly and very thoroughly.

Or, did he mean, “... “a conversation worth having”, for Andrew Gold to have with someone else, ...with ANYONE ELSE other than with him, Lloyd Evans?
It's a form of procrastination, which means putting something off indefinitely by pretending that you'll get to it "later." Not only does Evans not want to have that conversation, he doesn't want anyone linked to him to have it, either. He wants everyone to forget that conversation before it has a chance to begin, because it makes him uncomfortable. A narcissist is interested in all sorts of causes, except those which might make him look bad or force him to answer questions he would rather avoid.

Does anyone else get “triggered” when somebody uses the word “triggered”?

I have a friend who hates the term, because it is so overused today. I think it's a fad. At the moment, it's a way to get sympathetic attention and make demands on others to stop certain behavior or talk. At some point, the pendulum will swing the other way, and it will be seen as an admission of weakness, and then no one will want to admit being triggered by anything.

Lloyd’s new book
by jwfacts ini see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.
i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.

you can't take every criticism so personally that you obsess over it and need to hunt people down because of it.
Lloyd: "Hold my beer."
don't do things that make you a laughing stock and subject for ridicule.
Lloyd: "Hold this other beer, too."
And if you take money off people, I think you owe a degree of accountability...
Lloyd: *hands you a case of beer* "This might be a long afternoon..."

I assume that they mean a claim that is presented as factual, but is false. Leave it to the legal system to find a complicated way to say "a lie." I'm guessing that the statement above is a poor translation of the original.
And I agree, it seems unusual that a criminal defendant would pay damages (as opposed to restitution). Typically, a criminal defendant may face fines that must be paid, but these are paid to the state, and I'm not aware of a system in the USA where the victim can apply to the government to receive any kind of payment in such a case. Evans may be referring to the demand for 3,000 Euro in his
extortion letterlegal notification. -

I think he'll go through with it, because in the end he can pretend that the system failed him. Or, if through some miracle any of it ends with a verdict in his favor, he can use that to claim that he has been vindicated. But as you say, he has painted himself into a corner. I don't see a way that this ends well for him, because there doesn't appear to be a scenario where he can silence his critics. And since he cannot bear to ignore them, he will instead continue to empower them, making it more likely that people who support him will find out who he really is and take their money elsewhere.
I mean, imagine that the court in Croatia delivered guilty verdicts against the seven. What happens next? Nothing. Well, here is what happens- every time one of them criticizes him, he will look powerless. What will he do, demand that they turn themselves in? Threaten to file another toothless criminal complaint? Appeal to the Hague? Nothing. He cannot do anything. And that is if he somehow got the best outcome, which is virtually guaranteed not to happen.

Evans seems to be doing it as theatre, for the benefit of his remaining supporters. To show how effective it has been, the group of defendants did a live stream where they mocked him mercilessly for more than an hour.
I don't think he's responded. No doubt he will assure his followers that additional pages have been added to THE LITIGATION, and that his tireless efforts to protect the future of professional activism proceed apace.
