Are there too many EX-JW Born agains?

i dont wish to offend anyone but this is what i think.a large number of people who leave the jehovahs witness movment become born again christians or join other religious groups.but is this a sign that many who have learnt that "gods chosen organisation" is wrong have not learnt anything at all?.

maybe the prospect of facing a future without a god , a divine purpose , and a faith just too much for some people to bear.but in joining another religious group are they not making the same or similar mistakes as before?they are still putting their trust in a ancient book written by people they have never met, interpretted by other people or by themselves, they have not maybe learnt to be analytical in their thinking and to withhold trust until reasonably solid evidence is provided on an issue.. although other religious may or may not be more harmful than jehovahs witnesses if lessons on thinking and reasoning have not been learnt then we could be open to many more errors of judgment in our lives.. so does the fact that many jehovahs witnesses join other religons show that they are just moving on rather than understanding why jehovahs witness are wrong and learning from it?.

maybe they dont fully grasp that the fudamental flaw to jehovahs witness , is belief in the bible as gods word only the second being following that through an organistation .if the bible is not gods word then all religions who follow it are flawed.. of course what other people choose to think or follow is none of my buisness and i fully respect other peoples right to believe what they want, but if this world is to progress and mankind to improve in thier dealings with one another then we can not all go round living in our own little fantasy worlds , we must be brutal with ourselves in checking why we believe the things we do and trying to align our minds with reality not fantasy.. this apllies to all aspects of our lives.but if we are not honest or open minded and reasonable enough to see there are some massive problems to the bibles authenticity and divine declerations how will we be able to make reasonable decisions in other areas of our lives?

Hi Little Toe, you are a prime example of a raving fundimentalist Born again!....Only joking.I enjoyed our brief encounter and are not against anyones beliefs , I just like to express my viewpoint , which if done in the flesh would come across a lot more friendly and less provoking .My point was not get at anyone who is a christian .

What I'm trying to say was that I believe the Bible to be wrong, and trying to follow it is the reason JW's are wrong, but that many just see the organisation as wrong and just move on to other religious groups.I personnally believe that in doing so people have not fully grasped why their previous course of life as a JW was so in error.

I do believe that believing in a god is some thing some people are so used too or so desire that they can not see any other way of thinking apart from that.

When I say are there too many Born Again Ex-jws I'm making a point about how many have "really" learnt the truth about the "truth"(in my eyes anyway), I feel that some are just moving their focus else ware without getting to grips with the reasons why they went wrong before , and that not realising this will just lead them into making the same mistakes again.

when i decided to stop going meetings, i text sister who was a good friend, and told her that i wasnt continuing with meetings and the reason why, because of child abuse policy etc.

i asked her if she would like to stay in touch.

she said that even though she agreed with me, she's 'not one to keep in contact, and i'm not one to judge either'.

What else do people fall for?

what other scams ,schemes and crazy stuff do people fall for apart from becoming jehovahs witnesses?do you know of things to watch out for that some others may not be well informed enought about to know the problems involved?

homoeopathy is one.companies making millions out of the suffering of desperate people and selling them suger and water.

the only effect homoeopathy can have is a placebo one that may cause you to be more relaxed and less stressed due to the belief you are being cured, which will aid recovery,but that would just happen if you were lied to by your doctor.

Homoeopathy is one.Companies making millions out of the suffering of desperate people and selling them suger and water.

The only effect homoeopathy can have is a placebo one that may cause you to be more relaxed and less stressed due to the belief you are being cured, which will aid recovery,but that would just happen if you were lied to by your doctor.

I do not have time to go fully into it but homoeopathic remedies contain no healing substances what so ever they are just shaken water put into tablets.You have been warned.

do you think the general public needs to be better informed about jehovahs witnesses, what they believe , what they practise and what the real truth about this is?.

are they a real danger to society or just a fringe group that like many others will only trap a few poor souls, but for most people would never be an option to join anyway?.

i wonder, would too much bad press about the witnesses backfire and actually cause more interest and publicity in the religion than otherwize would be the case.would the types of people who become jehovahs witnesses listen to us anyway, as to be taken in so easilly requires some slumber in the upstairs department and general lack of reasoning skills?

Was Judas an EXJW?

just been thinking about the bible story of judas lately (idon't know why).any way , if you take some of the bible charcters as real historical people, even if the stories are exaggerated or even just not true , then maybe jesus was a man a bit like our dear own governing body members.. he taught he was the messiah and was sent by god or was gods son.either he was a liar or deluded.sorry i don't buy that he was gods real son.. judas along with the other apostales fall for this story just like we fell for the jw stuff.they follow jesus around change thier lives and go preaching about it.judas starts to notice that all is not as it seams , that no mircles are really happening and that jesus is a fraud.. he gets very upset about it so much so that he turns jesus over to the pharisees then commits suicide.. he was conned like us and got his revenge.. could be how the story really went, but i'll never know.

losing the shadow of Jehovah.

just the other night i was feeling a bit down and when i went to bed i started to pray , then remebered i dont believe in god.

my whole life i believed there was a supreme being watching over me , who i could talk to and was listening to our prayers.its hard to get rid of that feeling from the back of you mind.

sometimes,when i do something i think i shouldn't , i start to say a quick prayer but then stop when i realise i'm just talking to myself.

I wonder If deep down in my unconscious some part of me will always believe in a God because it was programmed into me as a Kid.I dont believe there is sufficient evidence that there is a god nor am I religious so my logic takes over and tells me how stupid the idea is.

Do we ever loose the feeling of Jehovah looking over us like a shadow ?
