Just been thinking about the bible story of judas lately (idon't know why).Any way , if you take some of the bible charcters as real historical people, even if the stories are exaggerated or even just not true , then maybe Jesus was a man a bit like our dear own governing body members.

He taught he was the messiah and was sent by god or was gods son.Either he was a liar or deluded.Sorry I don't buy that he was Gods real son.

Judas along with the other apostales fall for this story just like we fell for the JW stuff. They follow Jesus around change thier lives and go preaching about it.Judas starts to notice that all is not as it seams , that no mircles are really happening and that Jesus is a fraud.

He gets very upset about it so much so that he turns Jesus over to the pharisees then commits suicide.

He was conned like us and got his revenge.

Could be how the story really went, but I'll never know.

Problem is --unlike Judas who had his hands on the checkbook, none of us have our hands on wt ckbk

I think the primary difference between us and Judas, is that we're real.

By the way, did you know that Judas died twice?

And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed; and he went and hanged himself. - Matt 27:5

Now this man bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out. - Acts 1:18 (Is this where we get the expression "bought the farm"?)

I wouldn't classify us in the same light as Judas Iscariot. Whether or not you believe Jesus was Gods' Son, the point was; Judas betrayed a friend for money. Today, calling someone a "Judas" is a great insult as it always is related to betraying someone.

Years ago, a "friend" of mine told my boyfriend that I was fooling around on him (this was not true at all). There were accusations and she acted as a go-between when my boyfriend and I weren't talking. Basically, she was lying her ass off to both of us and we eventually broke up. And why did she do this? Because she had the hots for him and wanted him for herself, all the while she was betraying me.

When I finally found out what she had done and confronted her, she finally admitted it and asked what she could do or give to me to try and make it up.

I thought about it for a minute and said "How about 30 pieces of silver" and walked away.

I think he was a df'd jw who still believed it - I don't think he thought that Jesus was God's son. Rather, he still believed the religious leaders, and when he realised that he had lost out while trading (buying and selling), i.e. he thought he blew his efforts to earn heaven when he became responsible for killing an innocent man, he was lost - he went to the pharisees for release of responsibility or some sort of forgiveness, but they fobbed him off with "that's your problem".

I don't think he ever got it about Jesus - he was concerned with his efforts and deservedness.
