i was thinking about this today, many of the things i was told.
about life was a lie.
we were duped by the wt and by religion as.
I would want to try to give my kid a sense of things greater than himself, an understanding of the neccesity to help others that need it, and to teach that kid to think for themselves and to do the right thing especially when it is the hard thing to do.
That and to not marry a crazy person.

What I want to know, is JWfacts was able to get all of his files from the Australian branch because of a fair use information act of some kind. Is there somethign similar in the states? I know someone who dealt with a pretty bad issue, and I would love to help him get records from the branch. i think he would do it too, and it would bring him to the light side....by which I mean this place.
so in my limited quest on here and elsewhere, i am intrigued by the kind of canned responses that come from conversations with my friends and family about "my doubts".
these are of course conversation i usually should not have had in the mind state i was in, or in any state right leaving wt?.
anyways, i wanted to throw out here some of the common things espoused, and see what you all thought was a fair and even handed response.

I have a few good reasons for continuing the conversation up to this point, plus I just think an archive f some of the best responses to these conversation stoppers, can only serve the general good.
It can be easy to have a conversation with someone when you "have something" on them too......know what I mean?

Try it. The simplicity is great. Don't be ashamed, don't write a lettter (paper trails are NEVER a good idea), just pull someone in the back. Just a side point. Dress codes are all localized but fairly strict. The non-US branches are usually not as stiff. The upper management is basically all the same. I will say, sometimes you get these guys that all started off sincerly wanting to help others, and they made a difficult foreign country their home. A certain amount of humility seems to stay with them, and they usually are fairly understanding and balanced. Still towing the company line, but doing so with a certain cache.

I have been "fortunate" enough to have visited about 9 Bethels. Some I worked at temporarily. Mostly my experience was great. I had a family member that was serving, who had a very bad experience. They are still loyal to the organization, they just don't feel the same way about Bethel.
5 young guys locally have gone off in the past year and a half. I honestly wanted to plead with them not to do it.
I personally applied when I was 19. When I was accepted, I commited fornication. Wow did I dodge a bullet.

coming out in june 2013.. while i have always been a bigger fan of batman ( martial arts infulence) there was always something special about superman.. my favorite superman storyline is kingdom come.. i was never a fan of the superman series with christopher reeves, superman returns was at best ok and while i liked smallville ( tv series) it was overlong and had some glaring faults.. this movie, however, is filling me full of hope :).

Christopher Reeve is just more man than Henry Cavil. I am sure it will be good. But Superman seems to have been slightly sissified?
last year i did a review of 2011 for the forum.
this was more of a review that focussed on some of the awful stuff that was printed in the literature that year - the first year of my awakening.. 2012 has been more interesting from the point of view of things actually happening outside the literature.
i thought it might be nice to take a look back and put some of these events in chronological order.... .
