Thanks guys. New fake name and alias is all set up and the PM sent. I look forward to it. I also might start a new little buisness with this alternate version reality of myself. Maybe underwater basketweaving? Perhaps we will come up with ways to stripe candy more efficiently? Who knows! The sky is the limit now that I am someone else!

Confidential Materials!
by Atlantis inall documents of important nature such as, our kingdom ministry, boe letters, forms, or other materials will now be sent only by email or private message communications.
they will not be posted out here on the board.
if someone else wants to post them, be my guest.. .. we have no other choice in this matter, and sending out confidential documents is better when it is done privately.

It will be interesting to see what figures they come up with next year 2013, & 2014(1914 100th year aniversary). This admission of failed predictions in the january WT by the Governing Body outa cause a big drop, but time will tell what doctored up report they will make to hide in thier delusional dream of serving the most high.
Hey Franken,
I honestly don't think that will be the case. The admission of being "too eager" will simply wash over the masses as assurance that their organization is humble enough to admit its mistakes, even though that is simply not the reality. The 100 year anniversary of 1914 means even less, since all current teaching regarding that date don't really teach that separation from it causes any significant changes.
Basically, they are disarming very common reasoning points from people on this board. Fortunately, there are lots more.

Hey El Guapo,
I am also a fairly new poster. Welcome to the board.
Just a couple thoughts since I was an MS for about as long, and we are around the same age.
1) Not feeling the "love" is kind of tricky as a reason for leaving. The personal experience motive can be hard to make universal. I for example, was in a very loving a kind congregation at one point with some of the best, brightest, and most humble elders you could ever know! I have a friend who is a CO and he is one of the greatest guys I've ever met. Unfortunately, none of that matters, because there are douchbags too. We have the same ratios everyone else does in this regard. If I left because the hall I was in was unloving, would it make sense to go back if the hall I moved to was? It has to be about more than they way you are treated and your own perceptions. Just something to think about.
2) If you would like to, wait until the CO comes around and tell him directly, that your health does not allow you to continue, and your attempting to do it all, is getting you down and causeing you "mental anguish". These are hot button words that they don't want to mess with. They will grant you a leave immediately. You can start with the elders too if you like. You seem to be a little intimidated by them perhaps? That is normal, but it will pass. You are ahuman being, and serve because you want to. If you don't want to, it really doesn't matter to anyone but you. offering them any explanation at all is already doing more than is expected in any parallel scenario.
3) I personally don't like to throw around the cult word, but at best this is a high control group. You have to be aware of the control, why its there, and think about how you would handle similar situations in life if they were not related to your religion. Even your job understands or at least excepts your limitations. As far as being an elder, does it really matter? Do you really WANT to be an elder? I realize it about being recognized and it is only natural as humans and as men to want to "make progress" wether its in a career or moving up the congregational ladder.......but is it really what you want?

How would you answer? Part 1
by problemaddict inso in my limited quest on here and elsewhere, i am intrigued by the kind of canned responses that come from conversations with my friends and family about "my doubts".
these are of course conversation i usually should not have had in the mind state i was in, or in any state right leaving wt?.
anyways, i wanted to throw out here some of the common things espoused, and see what you all thought was a fair and even handed response.

All great answers and advise. I agree with you guys that getting into discussions is largely ineffective. However, there are discussions that CAN BE effective, when the person has come to you with the right motives. They are repeating the same programmed responses, but they may not have control over that.
That being said, I don't discuss doctrine with the indoctrinated. But this is more of a kind of "conversation stopper" topic. It isn't really doctrine or dogman. Its almost philosophical. This is the kind of question I can dig, and lead. Thats why I'm reaching out to you all. Plus, just as a resource for others. We all see the people that come here and have diareah of the mouth. They simply can't stop talking about what they now feel. For better or worse, why not at least give them direction to say things that make sense instead of not having their thoughts together.
I know if I have my thoughts together, its easier for me to not step ona land mine and retain control of my mouth and the conversation.
So far this is the redux I am getting.
-If order/organization was Gods way in relation to human beings, what about the time period from the1st to the 20th centuries?
-Wheat and weeds would grow together, with Jesus being the only one able to tell them apart. While a parable, it suggest God ALLOWS a certain amount of disorder.
-Faithful men of old were dealt with in a unique way, not through an "order". The third rail to avoid is not to get into a conversation about the supposed GB of the first century. Boeans considered "noble-minded" for testing the things written. (side note: I brought this up to a particular pharisaical CO, and he said "ah yes, but they did it with eagerness of mind.....they went into it wanting to believe". Can you believe that?)
-If this is Gods organization, they are doing an effective poor job at their entrusted work.
Just a thought of my own. The system of Kings in Isreal could hardly be considered Jehovahs arrangement. He didn't even want to have kings for them, they decided they wanted it and he let them hang themselves essentially.

Anyways, I wanted to throw out here some of the common things espoused, and see what you all thought was a fair and even handed response. I thought maybe this could be a resource for others, since they too will run into the SAME questions as we all do. It would be nice to have a couple of prepared thoughts knowing this is where they usually go. I will start with 2 I think are key. Maybe only one. If this is a good idea, great. If it isn't or has been done before, just let me know.
1) "But Jehovah has always had an organization."
2) (related to 1) Jehovah is a God of order, such as in the laws of the universe. Consider how has he chosen to accomplish his will in the last days. Would it be an orderly solution? Could a lose association of believers all with various ideals be considered orderly?
Thoughts?

Watchtower on Taking In Meat
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower on taking in meat .
today i added a new article to my blog addressing an underpinning of watchtowers blood doctrine, and how in 1980 this underpinning was undermined by none other than watchtower itself.
as it turns out watchtower admits that prior to the flood there was no prohibition against taking in meat, which as it turns out means there was no pre-flood prohibition against taking in blood.

absense of anything known or unknown.
Would it include the absence of nothing? Logically it must...
Hey EP,
Semantics aside, you asked me what nothing was, and I told you. Now you are saying that nothing is a something to be absent. nothing is the absense of something.
Matter cannot come from nothing. So whatever began matter, in my mind could be considered God. Thomas Aquinas was probably more eloquent then myself.

I need your help friends. Which logical fallacy is being used here?
by I_love_Jeff injw states: since the apostles made mistakes, it is okay for us to make mistakes as well".
is it the logical fallacy of "two wrongs make a right"?
the apostles were directed by god, the governing body is not.

If I could maybe stick my nose in here to clarify, since I am the recent recipient of some of these conversations. Its not quite as simple as the apostles made mistakes, so can we.
Here are the examples I have been given.
1) The apostles expected Jesus to set up his kingdom on earth even after being corrected multiple times, after his death. Apparently they were allowed to be "refined" in this regard.
2) Peter was racist (true), and was corrected and allowed to continue as an apostle.
3) At the end of John a "saying went out among the brothers that John would not die". This was of course not the case, so the saying that went out was false. Did it keep God from bestowing his spirit?
4) Revelation 2-3 has the letters ot the Christian congregations. They were the only congregations to go to, and had rampant problems. Where else would a Christian have gone during that time? Would it had been right of them to "forsake the gatehring of themselves together" because of what was happening? Nothing in the bible suggested that they were to stop attending, rather Jesus was giving them room for repentance.
I just want to make sure we are having a conversation about what they ACTUALLY think.
Also, Paul rebuked superfin apostles, a guy was disfellowshipped for screwing around with his brothers wife, there is an edict to not even say hello to someone who does not accept the heathful teaching, and Dyotrophese was also in the wrong. Proof you need to "keep the congregation clean" from apostates such as you fine people.
