  i raised this briefly in chat earlier today and i expect a similar response to this thread.. my opinion is that if you are religious/spiritual then you are mentally ill.

  While I realize you're just stating your opinion, I would caution you that you're showing some signs of mental illness yourself. I certainly hope that you aren't so delusional that you honestly think you are capable of judging the mental capacity of individuals; most of whom you have never met nor had any contact with whatsoever. Delusions of grandeur perhaps?

  To make such a blanket statement demonstrates a curious lack of awareness of your own limitations. I'm inclined to think that you're just trying to start some shit.

  this is a question that keeps popping up in my mind.. i cant think of a rational explantion myself so i have to ask someone who has been there.. well here it is:.

  "what did you when you first started studying with the witnesses and people from the outside warned you about it?.

  what did you do when people said it was a cult?".

  It's weird that you ask that because just yesterday I was remembering something from that time.

  I never had any opposition, but I remember that soon after I converted, I 'placed' the live forever book with my parents next door neighbor. They were Lutherans. Anyway, a couple of days later, the husband gave me a magazine, I think it was a Dawn(?) magazine. It had an article that was, almost word for word, identical to one of the chapters in the live forever book. I don't remember if I even looked to see what year it was published.

  When I asked my friend about it, she said that it was probably something from the 'evil slave', so I never read it again. Most likely I threw it away.

  I wish I had it, it would be interesting to compare them now.

  i'm glad that jehovah will kill you,yet!.

  there is alot of things that i want to say but you know that jesus said in matt 24:9-11 that you would hate his faithful ones ,but to be honest with you ,we don't hate you ,cause in matt 5;1-9 says that we will be hated,so since we all know that ,than it is a pleasure that you talk about us.and other thing that i want to say is that people in the world thinks that we are crazy ,but if you would read the old testament than you will know that the jews were to serpart themselves from the other nations and that is how jehovah's witness fell about it,see when the jews would be around other nations than they would forget jehovah and they would worship other gods.when they do that ,it would cost them their lives.so it is good that you are talking about us and i would like for you to continue to do so .why?

  Whats the dumbest thing you were counselled for?

  i was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.

  if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.

  one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.

  Once a snooty elders wife, out of the blue, decided to give me some makeup tricks (?) She told me that I should blend my foundation down onto my neck (which I guess is the way you're supposed to do it).

  I don't know if that was counseling, but it sure was weird. (Especially since she never said 'boo' to me otherwise) LOL

  How many hours are falsely reported?

  in the january 1 issue of each year, they harp on about how many hours the jws did last year etc etc.. how many hours are possibly falsely reported?.

  Man oh man...why didn't I learn any of these tricks? I could've saved myself alot of hassle while I tried to auxilary pioneer every couple of months with my 3 boys before I got a car! I wasn't getting much support from the other pioneers (they had their little clique goin' on) so maybe that's why I wasn't in the know. I wouldn't even round my time up from quarter hours!

  When I started regular pioneering (after I got a car), there were a couple months that I had to make sure I put in an extra half hour or fifteen minutes so that I could honestly report 90 hours. Jeez, if I'd only known the 'truth'!

  jw views of the events: the society gives the jws the impression that the indictment against rutherford & company was all about the finished mystery book, and the prophetic fulfillment that all-important book played in the death of the two witnesses spoken of in revelation.

  Thanks for this info, Amazing. I don't think I told you, but thanks for sharing your personal story a couple weeks back.

  I agree with dungbeetle as to why they take such an extreme stand...it's designer persecution.
