JW Hypocrisy Rears It's Ugly Head...As Usual
by babygirl30 inso about last night.... i am out at a local club (not restaurant, not event venue - a club) to see a rap concert.
now, i am with some friends minding my own business, and i find that i am standing right behind 3 active jw's - one of whom used to be my best friend.
this girl is as fake as they come: 1) she used to live with me and would bring non-jw guys home all the time, 2) was living with a man when she lived down south - until he dumped her, and then she decided to go back to jw's the 1st time and got reproved, and i supported her.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. My best friend for 10 years knew ALL of my secrets and I knew hers (her biggies were: sleeping with her husband for 1+ years before they got married and still lied about their behavior to get married in the KH, AND having a close friendship with a DFd male friend and almost leaving her husband for him.)
About 2 years ago, I came clean to the elders about all of my secrets and was reproved. I told her I did this and she was in total shock, but I said "I want to have a clean conscience and the elders were so kind. You need to do the same." She never did but I also never pressed the issue.
Now right before I was getting DFd, she claimed we would still have our friendship, on the down low for her sake. This seemed fair since she had no issue hanging out with DFd people in the past including someone she had strong, romantic feelings for. She would just hang out with them in parts of town that she knew other JWs didn't go to.
2 months into my disfellowshipping? I get a message saying that she misses me but she's "trying to do better spiritually" and won't be talking to me during this time. WTF?!?!?!
Hypocrisy runs so high with JWs, it makes me sick.

Hashtag "BESTLIFEEVER!!"
by Lostwun inis it just me or does it grind your gears when you see #bestlifeever hashtag after every damn jw post on fb and instagram?.
i rarely get on instagram anymore because i dont want to deal with the jw propaganda but i swear sometimes i just want to comment on one of those pics 'jw life is the worst life ever wake up already'.
does anyone else know what i'm talking about?

Agreed! It's so annoying and it's only gotten worse since the "best life ever" part at the CLAM meeting a month or so ago. Ugh. -

I don't hate JWs. All of the people I love the most are JWs. However, I hate the culture and psychological damage the organization creates. -

2016 Memorial Done & Dusted
by steve2 inwell on this side of the planet, the southern hemisphere/ new zealand, the 2016 memorial service in local kingdom halls will be over for another year.
another great big anticlimax.
some family and relatives will have gone - but unless i ask my sister, i generally have no idea about attendance and partaker numbers.

So my memorial attendance was actually a little down this year. I think last year it was right around 190/200. This year it was 179. From where I sat I couldn't see many to judge if there was anyone new. When I was walking in I did notice some people that only come to the "big" events. I thought it was pretty comical how much they stressed NOT partaking. I also think it's funny that in the weeks WT, they contribute the numbers going up due to some having "emotional or mental problems." However, I didn't see anyone partaking at mine.

My jaw literally fell open when I read the convention program. I really hope that "shun" talk doesn't F&&& up my restored relationship with my parents.

I went since I'm trying to get reinstated. It was held in a crappy motel with a poorly functioning air conditioner. Combined with 180 people, it was just so fun! -
